Still waiting on Freshfields (NY) and Deb (NY) - at this point, I'm assuming dings. Also - haven't heard anything from yesterday (makes sense though, it's still the morning).

Anyone receive email from K&E NY? Voicemail said I'll get one and I never did.

I don't think KE does emails. My interviewer didn't mention one - he said I would need to call the recruiting dept. to schedule the CB.

Re: Columbia EIP 2015
Like I want to freak out and I feel I need to freak out, but unless CLS's employment prospects are absolutely tanking this year and we should expect it to get knocked out of the T5 in 2016, there simply shouldn't be this many people still in the blue about callbacks. If my sample size is at all representative, overall 2L employment from EIP is probably going to drop 20 percent.

I think there are people getting large numbers of callbacks, they're just not posting them here

A good amount should be more than 2. Maybe 3-4 or so?

It seems like people with honors have been doing very well. Could firms be waiting for all the honors students to fill up before reaching lower in the class?

Re: Columbia EIP 2015
It doesn't really work that way. If they like you, your grades are qualifying, and they have a callback to give, you'll get one. Once the minimum standard for grades has been met, the interview itself really takes over. (FWIW, I had no honors, didn't bid a single NY firm, and converted almost every interview to a callback.)Anonymous User wrote:It seems like people with honors have been doing very well. For those people who thought their interviews went really well, but you didn't get the callback, look back and try to see if they really went as well as you thought. One big thing I've learned over the years is that if you did the majority of the talking, you're more likely to think it went well, though that won't necessarily be true. If you gave packaged answers that got responses, but didn't really connect, it probably didn't go incredibly well. If you didn't learn something completely unrelated to your interviewer's job or resume, it probably didn't go well. Were they just going through their list of questions, or did the majority of the interview detour into a real conversation (be that law related or not)?
Evaluating your interviews like this instead of just waiting for callbacks that may or may not come will help you going forward.

Re: Columbia EIP 2015
7/21 CB's in NY; 0/10 for LA (not sure if I sold my willingness to move); 0/1 (DC). Interestingly enough, though, I have only received 3 ding emails, so I'm crossing my fingers for some delayed CBs. I think we all wish firms were more proactive about sending dings..My feelings won't be hurt if I'm not accepted but don't leave me in limbo.
Anyway, I think it's time to start mass mailing today. Never surrender!
