Anyone have experience with callback lunches/dinners? Are they like screeners + the added talking-with-food-in-your-mouth obstacle?

I think they're a little bit less formal. Just be prepared, one of mine lasted two hours between driving there, ordering, eating, and coming back, and I didn't really click with the two associates I was eating with, so it was very awkward.JuniperCreekEsq wrote:I'll take my bow.Mal Reynolds wrote:Bill and Conny lol

I think sometimes the attorneys you lunch with don't submit evaluations? But I know that sometimes they do, so don't get too loose with the lips.JuniperCreekEsq wrote:I'll take my bow.Mal Reynolds wrote:Bill and Conny lol

Sounds about right. Also planning to research cases they lost, print them out, and ask "Why?"Regulus wrote:Once you're finally through with the callback interview, the lunches/dinners are the perfect time to relax and ask attorneys about exit options, bonuses, and how brutal the hours are at the firm.JuniperCreekEsq wrote:I'll take my bow.Mal Reynolds wrote:Bill and Conny lol

Yeah my 1L employer who was at one of the big Chicago firms told me that they dont do evaluations for callback lunches. But I'm sure if you do something egregious like use a fork and knife to eat your bacon cheeseburger you will be dinged. I think partners are more likely to show up to a dinner. Hiring partner showed up to mine and the dinner lasted 3 hrs.Crowing wrote:I think sometimes the attorneys you lunch with don't submit evaluations? they probably email us a confirmation with our schedule a day or two before right? as long as you know which day it is, you should be able to wait to get the confirmation to the see the timeAnonymous User wrote:Is there any way to look at your Davis Polk interview time? I know I signed up for the very first slot of the day but didn't write down the time... would rather not call to ask.
Didn't the portal say they will not tell you your schedule in advance?Anonymous User wrote:they probably email us a confirmation with our schedule a day or two before right? as long as you know which day it is, you should be able to wait to get the confirmation to the see the timeAnonymous User wrote:Is there any way to look at your Davis Polk interview time? I don't think there's anything wrong to call to confirm your appointmentAnonymous User wrote:Didn't the portal say they will not tell you your schedule in advance?Anonymous User wrote:they probably email us a confirmation with our schedule a day or two before right? as long as you know which day it is, you should be able to wait to get the confirmation to the see the timeAnonymous User wrote:Is there any way to look at your Davis Polk interview time?
