I'm the person who posted. I have callbacks, so perhaps people feel safe talking about it while I am in the room/vicinity. But I just don't really discuss these things in public places, period, and knowing that I have so many friends who aren't doing as well, I can't help but worry.

I would second the general spirit of this post. I would be careful with talking in public places INCLUDING TLS!Anonymous User wrote:I'm the person who posted. Remember law firm recruiters and even career service counselors read TLS postings. If you get a callback from a law firm that probably only called back one or two (those with 20 interview slots, for example), I think it's clear who you are even if you are anon. If you talk crap about a law firm or lawyer, it just gives a bad impression about NU in general to the public.
Suggestion for next year - maybe a NU student only (with password) message board instead of TLS? I, on multiple occasions, wanted to post CB statuses/interview advice etc. but was afraid that my identity could be traced back to because TLS isn't truly "anonymous."

Re: Northwestern OCI
Why are you scared of posting "Firm X CB"? It's not like any firm is going to connect it to your account. God forbid they know they you are reading TLS during this process. Almost everyone I know is. Obviously don't say "Firm X CB. God they are the worst."

If my future firm is trolling TLS in the off-chance they are anonymously mentioned by some random 2L = not a firm for/with which I want to work.Dr. Filth wrote:Why are you scared of posting "Firm X CB"? Trust me. Recruiters are so freaking busy right now they are not browsing TLS to play this "guess the anon" game.Anonymous User wrote:I would second the general spirit of this post. Re: Northwestern OCI
Why would a recruiter care if you posted/browsed TLS when they themselves would have to be doing the same thing in order to find out?
And you don't have to say that you received the CB if you don't want to. You could just say you heard they went out, or whatever. That info could come from OCS for all they know.
