Can we start a list of firms that have started giving out offers, if anyone is willing to say? After having a few callbacks last week I'm starting to get nervous about not hearing, and am wondering what the timelines of these firms have been.

Why moot court and not other LPW memos?Anonymous User wrote:No, only because we haven't received edits on it and I don't trust myself to re-read it now without having a PTSD episode. Also, not that bluebooking matters, but the citations might look a little weird to someone who doesn't know the assignment.Anonymous User wrote: Anyone using their LR write-on?
I did the stipulations, facts, and argument of my moot court brief.

No reason in particular, other than the fact that my second-semester work was far superior to my first-semester work.Anonymous User wrote:Why moot court and not other LPW memos?Anonymous User wrote:No, only because we haven't received edits on it and I don't trust myself to re-read it now without having a PTSD episode. Re: Columbia EIP 2014
we haven't even had EIP yet lol so isn't it a little premature to worry about timeline of offers? mass-mailing is likely to be so individualized and based on strength of contacts ect. that I doubt one person's luck with pre-EIP interviewing will translate to another. They don't have set schedules for this stuff since most of their recruiting takes place next monthAnonymous User wrote:Can we start a list of firms that have started giving out offers, if anyone is willing to say? The population of people with offers from certain firms is also very small, so it wouldn't be very anonymous. I will say that I know of offers going out in all the V10 save for Wachtell, Cravath, and SullCrom.Anonymous User wrote:we haven't even had EIP yet lol so isn't it a little premature to worry about timeline of offers? mass-mailing is likely to be so individualized and based on strength of contacts ect. that I doubt one person's luck with pre-EIP interviewing will translate to another. Can you give someone your interview, or can you only drop it into the community pot?

I also wanted to give people interviews but I don't think you can do that due to the delay between dropping and adding.Anonymous User wrote:Can you give someone your interview, or can you only drop it into the community pot?

Columbia hires some of the rudest, most shockingly abrasive and unhelpful people in the country for its career services department

I disagree. Petal sets an incredibly high standard for professionalism, mutual respect, and creating a safe space for students to express discontent.

28/28 on interviews. Leggo!
Now how do I cancel these things?
EDIT: This list was only for DC and TX. I'm not close to wizard enough to correctly place 28/28 in NY.

Gulp. Only 13 for me, a little on the low side.

damn, I only got 22. K&E, Sidley and Skadden must have been really high on everyone's list cause I missed them as #2-4. What a waste.
ETA: just saw the 16 & 13 above me after I posted, sry wasn't trying to be insensitive.

29/30. So close... (FWIW I bid only on secondary markets so it's actually not that big of an achievement)

Re: Columbia EIP 2014
Are V30 NY offices hard to pickup? My assumption would be that the bidlists resulting in low numbers of interviews were already NY focused, but if any EIP alums know about the chance of picking some of the better firms off the waiver wire can you chime in?

Re: Columbia EIP 2014
Didn't get a firm that I bid on and wanted. I actually met and stayed in close touch with the hiring partner there. He's at a non-NYC office, and I want NYC. Should I email him and ask him to get me in touch with someone from NYC, or just find out the contact to NYC and mention the partner as a connection?

Re: Columbia EIP 2014
I would email the partner then wait a couple days to see if he responds. If not, email recruiting, but leave his name out of the email and just reference having spoken to "a number of attorneys" or something like that. You don't want to name drop someone who may not have responded because they were "meh" about you.Anonymous User wrote:Didn't get a firm that I bid on and wanted. I'm the 28/28 guy (Wachtell was my only NY bid)Anonymous User wrote:

I hit on Wachtell at 28, FWIW to future 2Ls. Without knowing how they sort out tied ranks (its probably random), I'd still say 28 is a great place to rank Wachtell.
