Ding from Husch STL via mail
Ding from LewisRice STL via phone call
Soft ding from Greensfelder. No official answer from them, but I know they gave offers to 1Ls-with-ties here.
This city just really does not like me haha

Did anyone ever hear back from Aren't Fox LA? Curious if no response was a silent reject or how many people they planned on interviewing.

Hey Special Snow Flake here... MVP/Minority/above median... 40 applications including some diversity programs -> zero callbacks.. definitely did something wrong?

Nah. Just a minuscule market for 1Ls. You'll get an SA at OCI no worries.Anonymous User wrote:Hey Special Snow Flake here... MVP/Minority/above median... 40 applications including some diversity programs -> zero callbacks.. definitely did something wrong?

No screening interviews. just standard form rejections "you're very qualified but a this moment blshblah"Regulus wrote:Did you have any screening interviews, or was it just application directly to ding for every single one of your applications?Anonymous User wrote:Hey Special Snow Flake here... It also depends on the markets you are targeting and have ties to. I wouldn't worry about it.Anonymous User wrote:No screening interviews. just standard form rejections "you're very qualified but a this moment blshblah"Regulus wrote:Did you have any screening interviews, or was it just application directly to ding for every single one of your applications?Anonymous User wrote:Hey Special Snow Flake here... Don't worry. If OCS says your apps are fine, it's just random. It could also depend on when you applied. But really, don't worry about it.Anonymous User wrote:No screening interviews. just standard form rejections "you're very qualified but a this moment blshblah"Regulus wrote:Did you have any screening interviews, or was it just application directly to ding for every single one of your applications?Anonymous User wrote:Hey Special Snow Flake here... Re: Heard Back For 1L SA Position
How common are call backs anyways? I mean I realize a callback is a good sign, but I am unsure of what to expect going into the few that I have and I do not want to get my hopes up if its fairly common. Regardless, I will give it my all an show them why I am best for the position, but this still I am pretty more curious.

Re: Heard Back For 1L SA Position
Really depends on the firm and market. At the firms I had callbacks for, there were 3-4 others - which doesn't sound bad, but when there's only one spot your chances are pretty low. For some firms that are running heavily advertised diversity programs, I bet the chances are even smaller.Anonymous User wrote:How common are call backs anyways? The best thing to hope for is you make a good impression on them so at the very least, they want you back for the 2L summer. I didn't get any offers but I have pre-OCI callbacks as a result.

I had 4 CBs before I finally got an offer. Two of the CBs they told me they were interviewing between 10-20 people, unknown at other twoAnonymous User wrote:How common are call backs anyways? Multiple firms I interviewed at in secondary, midwestern markets were interviewing 10-20 1Ls for 1-2 spots, with one notable exception.

Re: Heard Back For 1L SA Position
ive heard of firms doing this.Regulus wrote:I actually got to see all of the other people doing CBs for a midlaw firm I interviewed with; they flew all of the applicants who got CBs out there at the same time and had us all eat breakfast together and hang out for about an hour before the interviews started. There was only 1 position being offered, which made it one of the most awkward hours of my life. Everyone was trying to appear sociable and friendly, but clearly none of us actually wanted to be talking with each other since it wasn't like we were going to be coworkers. As for numbers, there were 8 of us interviewing for that 1 position.
so.awkward.
