Re: 2013 UVA OGI Thread
Hey question... I have been fortunate enough to recieve several callbacks all in ny. Since my GPA is not quite great 3.4x I want to get up to the firms right away. Is it problem to miss the first week and possibly two of classes and schedule them for all of next week and some the following week? Or is this frowned upon by the school and professors?

I think you're fine. At this point, I'm missing most of the first 2 weeks. I think Dean Mahoney asked professors to record class for the first two weeks to avoid any problems.Anonymous User wrote:Hey question... Profs can frown all they want. Get a job at almost any cost should be your mindset now (stopping short of throwing elbows or being a jerk, but absolutely disregarding the tantrums thrown by profs when you choose to interview instead of meditate on the finer distinctions between 18th century tort holdings).

Offers are basically rolling, so I wouldn't put it off too much. Don't stress if you can't interview immediately, though. Because it won't make a difference, and a few days are unlikely to kill your chances. Many firms make their rounds of offers on a weekly schedule, and until they fill up all of their offer slots, you are safe.

Maybe in a month?Anonymous User wrote:At what point do I consider silence to be a no from firms I inteviewed with on the first week?
It's not common, but firms sometimes extend callbacks weeks after the screening interview. Don't pin your future on it, but not everything moves at the speed of light.
My year I know people who got Skadden callbacks like 2 weeks after the first wave went out, as one obvious example.

Ding from Alston & Bird ATL via snail mail today. Expected it at this point since others already had CBs, but thought it was one of my best screener interviews.
