Anything from Latham west coast? I had a CB at Latham SD on Thursday (the 18th). Also a 3L so I'm going for that entry level spot. Any guesses as to when I'll hear back?

My 3.6 got my foot in the doors that I wanted, but no offer yet. I have a CB tomorrow that I picked up through a mailing I sent last week - which turned into a phone screener.
Anecdotal, but I went on a CB recently and the firm said that things are moving very fast this year. If you target slower moving firms, you might find them looking to pick up their pace.

Just curious, was it targeted (either full cover letter or some targeting in the body of an email) or just a resume drop? Oh, and was it secondary market/small firm or DC/NY?Anonymous User wrote: My 3.6 got my foot in the doors that I wanted, but no offer yet. 3.2 with lots of callbacks and multiple offers. Good work experience; not a URM. Brush up on those interviewing skills even if you think you're solid. Make the most out of the callbacks that you have, because at that point it really is all about fit.Anonymous User wrote:My 3.6+ has done nothing for me. Barely got multiple callbacks. What market have you been targeting? And where in the V100 are your offers?

Anyone know about Pillsbury DC? I had a CB today. Heard they made an offer on the spot.

To all the GULC students who haven't gotten an offer yet: keep going. Keep mailing. Reach out to your friends or classmates you trust to read over your resume, help you with any connections they may have, etc. Remember people are willing to help to the extent that they can, and we genuinely all want our friends to get fantastic jobs they are excited about. You've got this!

I personally wish I had known going into the process just how difficult the DC market can be...ended up with multiple CBs at much bigger reaches in NYC and got dinged even from relatively safe DC OCI interviews. Feels like those were wasted bids in retrospect.

gotta check those class sizes. easier to be 1 of 60 or 1 of 120 than one of 9Anonymous User wrote:I personally wish I had known going into the process just how difficult the DC market can be...ended up with multiple CBs at much bigger reaches in NYC and got dinged even from relatively safe DC OCI interviews. Re: Georgetown EIW - 2016
Yeah, for students in the future who are reading this thread: I think if you have the grades to be competitive at the firms with big summer classes (so, top 10-15%), DC can be a very, very generous market to Georgetown students. There are several firms with a huge GULC presence that are very particular about grades, and you can do very well with them. But, if you fall outside that, the class sizes shrink dramatically. So, it can be really hard to compete against all of Georgetown for the other firms with small class sizes-- even if you have good grades (say, top third or whatever).Anonymous User wrote:gotta check those class sizes. easier to be 1 of 60 or 1 of 120 than one of 9Anonymous User wrote:I personally wish I had known going into the process just how difficult the DC market can be...ended up with multiple CBs at much bigger reaches in NYC and got dinged even from relatively safe DC OCI interviews. How have the transfers fared? Also, are there GULCers out there with zero to 1 callbacks? I'm a t14 transfer and struggling

Re: Georgetown EIW - 2016
I'm a transfer who fared relatively well! Top of my class at a third-tier school. I had over 15 screeners, 3 callbacks and 1 offer (so far). I found it to be majorly hit-or-miss. Some firms were thrilled to see how well I did at my previous school and others (the NY-based firms) completely discredited my success because my school was ranked so low.Anonymous User wrote:How have the transfers fared? Re: Georgetown EIW - 2016
I have a couple of friends who only had one callback each out of EIW. One I know was a shade below median; not sure about the other's GPA. Both present well and have good resumes. I'm at median and had 5 callbacks and have an offer. No real way to gauge this stuff; seems pretty luck-of-the-draw.Anonymous User wrote:How have the transfers fared? T4 transfer in top 10% and Im pretty happy with how I did given how the hard to gauge process can be. 11 screeners, 2 callbacks, 1 offer that I ended up accepting(told the other firm I was acceoting the offer before one was extended). Both callbacks came from a secondary market that I have ties to. Pleased with how it worked out for me. Friend from the same school had 18 screeners and like 9 callbacks but was URM and IP for what it's worth.Anonymous User wrote:How have the transfers fared? Re: Georgetown EIW - 2016
Also a t4 transfer. Had about 19 screeners (some were open signups that I had no shot at, just took them to practice interviewing) and got 2 callbacks. Rejected from one firm I really wanted and just did the other callback couple days ago. Also got a screener and a straight to callback from massmail. Waiting on those, although the screener was a while back and probably a rejection.
Still waiting on like 6-7 firms that I haven't heard from. Does anyone know what OCS recommends? Should I contact the recruiter or attorney's that interviewed me to express interest? Two of the firms are from a regional market I have strong ties to and would be my top choices. Interview with those firms went quite well too.
