Does anyone know how hiring at Nassau Works?

Do they call 25 applicants at the same time? Do you think they go through the list 5 a time a give people a week to respond etc?

Does anyone have an idea regarding how these offices move through their considered applicant list?

Thanks

Did you contact Cook County about your offer? When's your deadline to let the other office know?
I did contact Cook County- unfortunately, they said it was out of their hands and could not give me an answer. I got an extension to answer my offer but even so, I'm not sure I'll get word from Cook County before my answer is due.
Did you get any work on how they notify?

Anyone hear anything from Suffolk (Boston) or Middlesex? Are second rounds still being done? Has anyone who had a second round received a rejection yet?

Wondering if people are hearing from Queens/Suffolk that are simply not on these forums.

BX started at $56,500, went to $58,500 after bar admission in 2012. Now C/O 2012 is at $65,000 + yearly bonus of roughly $1,000 - $2,000.

The new salary for admitted attorney's in BX is $63, 300, just so you have more recent numbers to use when calculating.

None of you are correct. I accepted an offer at the Bronx office and just recently (within the last week) asked for a document from their office confirming my acceptance of the offer and the salary (for purposes of providing proof of income to brokers/landlords/etc towards 30x income on an apartment) and that letter stated in no uncertain terms 61,200 as the starting salary.

None of you are correct. I just accepted an offer this june 2015 for the BX and salary for pre-admitted attorneys was 61,400 and once admitted it jumps to 63,400 (or could be 63,500 forgot what she said on the phone but the 63 is definite). From my understanding none of the numbers you see online from any office is the actual salary for this years class because it changes every year due to budget etc.

Also for those curious about Queens DA who havnt received offers.. queens, also in june 2015, rejected me saying they are not hiring anymore attorneys for this class because the budget doesnt allow for it. (it has been a big week for me) Now this could just be BS to break me the news gently so there is still reason to have hope for the queens people out there but just sharing what i was told.

Interesting.

So based on the above poster, Queens offers have already been extended? Can anyone else confirm?

Did you call or e-mail Helene? Also, was there a good time to call her? I know she can be hard to get a hold of sometimes.

I emailed her. Also, I have two weeks to decide so they might wait until people accept or decline to get back to people.

I've been told by an ADA working at Manhattan that apparently Manhattan is still hiring too.

I accepted an offer from Middlesex DA last week and there were others in the office doing final interviews with the DA, so I am assuming they also received offers. My timeline for them was as follows: first round interview through OCI fall of 3L, 2nd round in April, 3rd round in May, offer in June.

I also applied to Suffolk DA (Boston) and was rejected after the 1st round. I know people who received offers, some in early May and some a week or so ago (they had connections). The timing seems like they are making offers in waves depending on who they want/your connections/if you have other offers pending. I do know most in last year's fall class did not get offers until really late in the summer, think end of July/early August. So it seems like they are ahead of schedule this year and I expect they still have some more offers left to give, so hang in there!

Anyone else out there going to be working for Suffolk or Middlesex DA in the fall? Seems like us Boston folk are far and few between here.

I've been e-mailing them for months with no reply. Don't let that discourage you though. They are very busy.

Same here. Emailed last week and have yet to hear anything.

I did hear through the rumor mill that their 2016 class is going to be downsized significantly.

I have heard that Nassau County has hired over 15 New Assistant District Attorneys for the August 2015 incoming class. Can anyone confirm this?
Also does anyone know if they are continuing to hire- or are they done.

Has anyone received any correspondence from Nassau in the past three weeks aside from those that received offers?

Thanks

Does anyone have any insights or advice on lateral hiring in the midwest? Do any offices in IL/WI/IN/MI look at attorneys that aren't yet barred in that state?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
