Anecdotal as well, but the vast majority of my friends (many of whom, like me, have median to somewhat below median grades) have either landed something already or have multiple callbacks left.

NY (HIGHEST by far), DC (a smaller proportion than NY) and places to which they had ties.

Edit :
Commentary : ( That I hope will help future GULC students in EIW ) General observation about the screeners - go into the interviews with the aim of selling your personality NOT your resume or your grades. While some firms absolutely have grade floors, if you bid conservatively gpa-wise - firms are using screeners as a first "fit filter" to see if they like you. Regarding bidding, do not bid DC unless you absolutely have to be in DC. A good number of my friends got burned by bidding a combo of DC/NY netting ~7 screeners while people who bid NY or NY +secondary markets ~15.

Re: Georgetown EIW 2014
In talking to friends/ TLS etc. it at least anecdotally seems that GULC students faired pretty well this year. I know it is no where near pre-2008 levels, but what do you think the net from EIW was? 50-60% of the class participating at EIW got big law?

Re: Georgetown EIW 2014
No idea how we did as a class although my anecdotal evidence is generally good. GULC did go from a 100% lottery system to a 70/30 lottery to pre-select system for the first time this year. If this class does markedly better that could be why (apart from a generally improving biglaw market).

Re: Georgetown EIW 2014
Probably closer to about that % of the ENTIRE CLASS summering in biglaw, which is about where Class of 2013 stats would put us (50% in FedClerk or BigLaw) (and summer class sizes are larger this year, entering class was smaller, etc.). EIW success rate seems significantly higher than 60%.POA wrote:In talking to friends/ TLS etc. it at least anecdotally seems that GULC students faired pretty well this year. I've got a fair number of friends who didn't get anything including some decently above median.

Approximate class rank: Top 10% (right around the 5% mark)
Journal: Secondary
Moot Court, Beaudry, etc.: None
IP backbround: No
Significant work experience: Gov't
Years out of undergrad: 3+
Prestigious undergrad: No
Other relevant factors: No.
Target markets: DC, Boston, No. Cal.
Type of work sought: Litigation and Regulatory
Self-assessed interviewing ability: Below Average
Screeners or callbacks prior to EIW from mass-mailing: CB from resume collect
Screeners received for EIW: 24
Callbacks received from EIW screeners: 9 (3 DC, 3 Boston, 3 No. Cal) + resume collect (DC) (10 total)
Offers received: 2 DC offers, 4 CB rejections, 2 CB results pending, 2 CBs cancelled
Accepted: Top 3 DC firm.
Commentary: I had a much easier time getting callbacks with more selective firms than less selective firms in DC. Despite strong Boston connections didn't get Ropes or WH. Got 3 CBs in No. Cal. without ties or IP but once I got there my interviewers all hammered me on ties. Would have been a waste of time to go out there if it weren't for the chance to visit friends.

What was their bidding strat? Are they unusually bad at interviewing?Anonymous User wrote:I've got a fair number of friends who didn't get anything including some decently above median.

According to LST 38% in 250+ firms (33% in 500+) and 5% in fed clerks post graduation.

Why the fuck are we using 250+ rather than 100?

Re: Georgetown EIW 2014
The better stat (and LST's own) is 100+ (41.1) + FEDCLERK (5.1) = 46.1%. Then there is the uncertain quality of our 26% PI/Gov stat.

Also, it bears repeating that Class of 2013 did OCI in 2011, at a time when Biglaw was still quite risk averse.Anonymous User wrote:The better stat (and LST's own) is 100+ (41.1) + FEDCLERK (5.1) = 46.1%. Then there is the uncertain quality of our 26% PI/Gov stat.
