Jesus. That brings the total to what? Less than 25?
I know Tulane's August round is 21 and September round is 32 with at least two October sessions to go. Off campus Interviews amounts to another 52. Resume collect adds around 100 (it's updated frequently).

What accounts for the huge decrease from last year? If I recall (from some pdf posted a few weeks ago on this thread), last year had much more than 5 for september.
Seriously. Emory is in Atlanta. It should attract all GA employers and many FL, NC, and AL employers.

I feel really bad for the Emory 2L's. Talk about not getting the benefit of your bargain.

Most of the threads about Emory emphasized how their career services people are crap. A lot of people here speculated that it was actually the schools in the middle (14-50), rather than the lower-tiered schools, that would suffer the most. We know that the top 14 or so schools can decently weather the recession (as loosely as one wants to define weather - I know some in the lower-tiered T14 hasn't been so hot). In contrast, the lower ranked schools are used to relying on local/regional law firms to get their students jobs - regardless of the economic climate.
It's the upper-middle tier, which used to funnel the top 1/3 of their grads into biglaw, that now have to funnel to smaller regional law - which is a whole different type of beast. Thus, at least ITE, career services actually matters in recruiting a broader spectrum of recruiters for upper-middle tier schools.

Edited per Romo's request.
I'm this poster -- there was a bug with Symplicity that didn't show all of the preselects properly for some reason when the results came out midweek last week. # of preselects is now at 16.

At my school, the preselects show up about 1-3 days prior to the days when you can sign up for interviews.

It depends on the employer... I experienced anything between 2 weeks to 3 weeks I think.

considering that our interviews start in about 2-3 weeks, I certainly hope ours come in sooner

I am sure your CSO has a deadline that firms have to report selections by.

Jesus Christ. How??? I know things are rough ITE, but they are still a T20. I know WUSTL's numbers for early OCI were 60-70 and I think they've got another 30-40 for all other OCIs.

Seriously, this is getting ridiculous. Emory is not a bad school; how are their numbers so far below those of the competition? Does an ineffective career services staff really have this big of an effect? Unbelievable. It's to the point now where I feel legitimately awful for current Emory students.

Generally speaking, how is this year's OCI comparing to last years?

Better. A very rough generalization suggests that the higher ranked the school, the greater the increase.

TLDR version: Things are looking up for the most part. Emory OCI is a barren wasteland.

everyone do this.
wanted to add that two out of the five employers at our september oci are JAG (air force and army). and another one is unpaid. i'm almost not even mad because it's just so absurd.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
