OP here. I am considering cancelling this callback to avoid the moment where I have to hand them my transcript. Would that be stupid? Am I still better off just going in there and giving it the old college try?

i'm in a similar situation -- except grades probably put me somewhere in the bottom 25% range

figure at the very least it'll be good practice for OCI this summer

I agree with this. You never know what may happen. Just knock the interview out of the ballpark and keep applying. Let them tell you "no". Don't count yourself out.

Do all the firm diversity programs give interviews to pretty much everyone who applies? I'm trying to gauge if my interview requests are just a matter of course or if they are really interested.

OP here: Skadden and Weil. I applied to both and got interview requests within a few days. I also don't have grades.

Is it worth sending private sector apps out today? Will they be read?

I applied to 1L SAs later than this last year. It's not ideal, but it's definitely not too late.

Def not ideal. Congrats!! Curious to know your stats (URM? WE? Ivy undergrad? Advanced degrees?).

I was wondering the same thing...trying to shoot out 3-4 more apps today and call it quits.

To add another data point, Weil CB. T14, non-URM, good grades, WE. Curious how many CBs they do vs. offers made. According to NALP, they had 7 (expected) 1L SAs in 2014, 7 in 2013 and 8 in 2012. That's a pretty large 1L class, so I imagine they must conduct a lot of these?

OP again. I am URM, t14, a couple of years of unimpressive work experience, and Ivy undergrad. No other degrees.

No idea if this is similar, but Baker Botts Dallas probably interviewed ~50 T14 people before grades, and who knows how many texas schools after grades for same amount of spots :/

This question may have already been asked, but what is the general etiquette in communicating to employers that you already have an offer? Wait till they contact you first with an interview or send out an email to all potential employers letting them know that you've already decided on where you want to work of the summer?

Not sure if this is TCR, but I've just been responding to screener requests with this information. Following up with my entire email blast didn't seem feasible or necessary...

I sent CL/resume to 58 firms in 3 markets. FWIW, I'm IP.
I've sent out ~50 applications to three markets over the last two weeks. I'm URM/T14/good grades, but shit--I've heard nothing but radio silence.

I think I'm done applying. If I can't get land an interview with 50+ apps pending across three markets, there has to be something critically wrong with my CL or I'm just way late to the party. Either way, it's time to focus on school again, I guess.

All my emails were sent on Dec 1st and most of whatever action I saw was prior to the new year.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
