No, but here are the TX firms that I know of who have called: V&E, Fulbright, BB, Jones Day, Latham-Houston, (Gibson and Susman both apparently had invite only dinners). Let me know if I'm missing some.Anonymous User wrote:anyone hear from Weil Dallas?

How many firms don't send anything at all if they reject you?
I haven't heard from the vast majority of mine

I haven't heard from the vast majority of mine
1. Nobody has heard anything either way
2. Others have received CB, but not you; nobody has received dings
3. Others have received CB, some have received dings, and you have received nothing

I'm referring to one and two obviously, but mainly two. How could I be asking about three?Anonymous User wrote:"Haven't heard from" as in....Anonymous User wrote:How many firms don't send anything at all if they reject you?

I used to work in recruitment for another industry, and I do not have the greatest confidence in offices keeping track of their applicants. Sometimes... one overlooks some files and forgets.Anonymous User wrote:I'm referring to one and two obviously, but mainly two. Dings are starting to flood in. Shearman and Sterling and Davis Polk via snail mail. Arnold and Porter and Jones Day via email.

I've actually encountered three couple of times, in my case it usually has meant the partner hasn't gotten to my files and when that happen I'm dinged. I've also had 4) People have received dings, but no word on callbacks.

Dings from Fried Frank (snail), Hughes Hubbard (snail), Cravath (e-mail).
I don't know why any firm would mail out rejection letters. It's slow and costs more than a simple e-mail. I really don't see any difference between being rejected via a signed letter as opposed to an impersonal e-mail, but maybe that's just me.

I've heard from 11 of 28 firms. Of the 11 I've heard from, I'm 7 for 11.
For those that feel as though they made etiquette mistakes, what mistakes do you think you made. Is there some etiquette, other than common sense, that I should be aware of?

Re: Columbia EIP 2010 Callbacks Thread
I made a dumb mistake at one my callbacks. When I first walked in, someone else's resume was lying on the guy's desk and I happened to know the person and I started to look at it. I obviously didn't physically pick it up or anything, just kinda started glancing over it. The guy definitely noticed and even semi-called me out on it. He held it up and was like, "Yeah, John Smith (not the real name obviously)."
That was really awkward. Dumb mistake on my part.
Hopefully, the firm/person isn't reading this, although I'm pretty sure I'm not getting an offer anyway.

I don't know to calculate it, and I wouldn't do it even if I did. It is, at best, very low.Anonymous User wrote:ha. what is it roughly?Anonymous User wrote:Oh, yeah, it's rough.Anonymous User wrote:Rough GPA?Anonymous User wrote:I've heard from 11 of 28 firms. Re: Columbia EIP 2010 Callbacks Thread
What is wrong with me (or my bid list) that I’ve heard from about 11 or 12 firms now, and all have been rejections? (Yes, my GPA is “very low” as well.) I must be really terrible at interviews.I don't know to calculate it, and I wouldn't do it even if I did. It is, at best, very low.
Congrats on having so many callbacks though! That’s awesome.
