This is not true. One of my friends summered at Ropes Boston, and said there were at least a couple classmates that were no-offered; however, my friend said they were either ridiculous people or very lazy.Anonymous User wrote:I'm almost positive they - and other Ropes & Gray offices - have dispensed offers. We're talking about callback offers for a summer associate job. Not actual offers for a full-time position after you've completed your summer stint.Anonymous User wrote:This is not true. I would also like to know the answer to this (whether some firms are waiting 2 or more weeks to give offers).Anonymous User wrote:Even ITE?Anonymous User wrote: Is it possible? Yes. I'm not optimistic, though. As I understand it, most firms typically extend offers within a week or so after the callback interview.

Re: Offers Thread
Possibly off-topic Q:
What do you say/talk about when a firm that has offered you calls to see if you have any questions and you don't really have any? I'm waiting to finish off my interviews so I can get a feel for the different offices I visit, but this firm is probably one of my favorites so far. Do I just tell them that? If I had to commit today I probably could, but the firms I've been dealing with have not been pressuring me at all to make decisions...

I wonder if the V40+ are more likely to wait to give offers. The only firms that I've heard back from within 2 weeks of callback fell within the V30.steve_nash wrote:^ I got an offer from a V50ish firm about 3 weeks after my callback.

Re: Offers Thread
It definitely varies. I received an offer from a V50-V75 firm the next business day.I wonder if the V40+ are more likely to wait to give offers. The only firms that I've heard back from within 2 weeks of callback fell within the V30.

Still nothing from Goodwin Procter? I haven't been able to find a single person who has heard about rejections/offers after callback...

Re: Offers Thread
As a quick aside: what's with all the interest in Ropes? Is it simply due to the latest Vault rankings (e.g. best firms to work for)?
[Anonymous because I summered at Ropes. I really like the firm, but it was never this popular when I was interviewing.]
