My take now (potentially cope) is when it comes to EOY bonus times firms will incorporate the milbank bonus and call it a special bonus and put it on top of the standard bonus. Then Milbank will be forced to make the hard decision of paying a bonus without the special bonus (thus surrendering) or Milbank will pay out the bonus plus special bonus and THEN DPW will raise to one-up Milbank and incorporate the summer bonus + special bonus + EOY bonus and then Milbank will surrender and not match this new DPW increase thereby technically matching DPW in gross. Screenshot this now. If I'm right I want to be made of king of this forum.
So they take whatever bonus they were going to pay anyway and call part of it a special bonus just so as to screw with milbank? I love the idea, but how is this even cope?

Cause we get more money in the end as opposed to just completely ignoring Milbank

Seems much more likely that partners have realized associates are basically fungible and they don't have to match random Milbank bonuses. Almost no one is leaving a firm over $10K, the market isn't particularly hot, and the bonuses haven't really changed Milbank's reputation in recruiting.

Also if Milbank is NOT matched or one-upped, it will be the FIRST TIME ever that this has NOT happened.

Timesheets, gentlemen, timesheets. Summer has come and gone and there are no summer bonuses to be had. Good day.

I remember the epic threads calling out Covington's no raise bullshit back in '18. Will someone hold Hogan accountable?
