I've had 22 screeners so far and 2 dings, but nothing for the rest. I'm low-key panicking.

Anecdotally things seem pretty slow. Especially at a lot of the big DC outfits if that's what you bid.

Consider interviewing for Biglaw in Florida if you can-- just reach out to them. You may be able to switch offices or firms later. Holland & Knight, GT, and quite a few others have offices on Brickell.

Updates:
CB - Cadwalader DC. Great interviewer. Really excited about the direction of the firm and the practice group. SC->CB = ~50hrs

maybe worth the shot but if you have no serious ties to South Florida it’s a non starter. Especially if you don’t speak spanish and didn’t do this summer in Miami. They will grill you about it in cbs

Has anyone on this thread heard anything from Weil in DC, specifically for their antitrust group? Full disclosure: I am at a different T14 and they don't attend our OCI but applied there through Pre-OCI weeks ago and was told I'd hear back for a few weeks and am getting desperate so any/all info is very much appreciated

Clifford Chance, DC Screener 8/3—>CB interview 8/3. Declined 8/4. Canceled due to family/personal issues that are going to keep me in FL. (Moms hospitalized.)

However interviewer JS was freaking amazing. Seriously, I would go work for them in a heartbeat if home situation was different.

Biglaw is out the window for me now I guess.

Wait, so instead of going through with the process you just preemptively pulled out? I ummm... would not have done that. It probably would have made more sense to wait and see if you get an offer, and then explain the situation to them. They might have been willing to move you to FL or somewhere near there, or allowed you to start remote. Did OCS tell you to do this?

I got another offer for a very good firm in FL ~180K. I thought about going through with it too. Ultimately, just figured I had something that was good that would work and could open that Clifford Chance slot for someone else. The chances of taking a callback slot, asking that question, then maybe potentially when I had a semi-exploding offer on my doorstep factored into the calculus! Thank you for the advice--I am going to have coffee with the interviewer around September so we can chat.
