I'm skeptical Wachtell even makes an announcement, they will just adjust paychecks and no one will noticeAnonymous User wrote:one of the ny elite firms will announce 190k base this week

No people are just expecting K&E to match in all offices due to Am Law article source from someone who is "familiar with the firm." Wouldn't be surprised if they do - they constantly pride themselves on being top of market in comp (with bonuses), but no official announcement has come from any partners there.

How long do you think it'll take for all of the V25, V50, V100 to fall in line? Or do you think we will see a gap somewhere down the list in compensation for awhile?

Dude. Are you kidding me? I do actually have a job. I'm assuming you are a 1L with some time on your hands, why not post that list in one of the comments on here?Anonymous User wrote:Can we also create a part of the first post where we list all V50-100 firms and bold all those that have matched?
I think it's important to shame those firms that do not match New York market. To this end, we need to make it visually easy to see which do not pay market before recruiting time. This will help rising 2L students know which firms to completely forget about when it comes to bidding and comparing offers. Every competitive student at OCI this autumn should under no circumstances consider a firm that does not pay market, and the best way to do that is to make it as clear as possible to everyone which do not.
The more pressure we put on ALL firms to match, the more overall inflation in associate salaries there is, and the faster we reach $200k.
Also, why the egregious use of anon to post that?

Unless they sent out a separate email to summers, raises are only to Class of 2015 through 2008. Also, no mention of Class of 2016.trbrny wrote:Thanks. Updated.Anonymous User wrote:STB has matched for all offices and their summers.

Because class of 2016 hasn't started yet. It's ridiculous to think they wouldn't be included. All of these are firm-wide pay rate changes.Anonymous User wrote:Unless they sent out a separate email to summers, raises are only to Class of 2015 through 2008. My firm sent us an email telling us we better have a plan in place to spend the extra $20k now that we have a few months to think about it.LazyLASA wrote:Because class of 2016 hasn't started yet. True but other firms have explicitly been saying class of 2016. In any case, Simpson’s match (correct me if I’m wrong) is the first non-US raise. All offices are at the new scale including international offices paid on the original $160K scale, and the London sterling scale is being increased proportionately.LazyLASA wrote:Because class of 2016 hasn't started yet. Of course it applies to class of '16. We got an email about it. That's why I was hoping STB wouldn't chicken out and raise the bar to $190k.

Ah well STB hasn’t notified incoming associates yet (or at least hasn’t notified non-NY incoming associates).LaLiLuLeLo wrote:Of course it applies to class of '16. We got an email about it. That's why I was hoping STB wouldn't chicken out and raise the bar to $190k.

According to a current KE associate they have not yet matched officially, but we all see where this is going.

I'd say Covington is fairly verified. The memo is on here. http://abovethelaw.com/2016/06/biglaw-s ... ted-equal/trbrny wrote:u/d with Debvoise confirmation and Covington being evil.
