Ditto -- selected for interview.Anonymous User wrote:My status was just updated to "selected for interview". Looks like they're still issuing updates (or maybe just starting to). Good luck everyone!
Out of curiosity, what divisions did ya'll apply to? I applied to Civil Appellate and Federal Programs.

When you tell us you were selected for an interview, could you please also tell us what division(s) you applied for? (I know you don't know which one(s) selected you for an interview, but it would help narrow the field for us nervous folk.)

Will it change no matter what to "selected for interview" or "declined to interview" or does your status just stay the same as "application received" if you are not selected?

Not that I can speak with authority here, but when I applied to SLIP a couple years ago (1L year), my status just never changed: so it remained "Application Received" even after I was rejected for an interview.Anonymous User wrote:Will it change no matter what to "selected for interview" or "declined to interview" or does your status just stay the same as "application received" if you are not selected?

Is there any truth to the notion that components actually invite four applicants to interview for every one spot?Anonymous User wrote:FYI, the updates are rolling, because they're manually updated. Most recent post by the person updating our status:

I don't doubt it. Other government honors programs invite up to ten applicants for every one spot.Anonymous User wrote:Is there any truth to the notion that components actually invite four applicants to interview for every one spot?Anonymous User wrote:FYI, the updates are rolling, because they're manually updated. there's some convoluted government formula that has been posted in the past, but iirc they can bring in 3-4 people per spot depending on the total number of anticipated hires or something. you could find this is an old thread I imagine.Anonymous User wrote: Is there any truth to the notion that components actually invite four applicants to interview for every one spot?

My status says "closed" but I received email notification that I got an interview (didn't say who had selected me). Am I looking at the wrong place for my status?

I had to withdraw/transfer my app to SLIP because I accepted a clerkship right after submitting. Does SLIP follow the same timeline as Honors?

Re: DOJ Honors 2015-16 Megathread
I was a SLIP this summer, and it all really depends on the division you're involved with. For my job, I got a phone call early December saying they were interested in talking to my references and asking if I still wanted to work there. Then they called my references and offered me the job the very next day. There was no interview at all. As far as I could tell, the other SLIPs in my branch had the same experience, though some had it earlier.
I'm under the impression that some branches actually interview their candidates, but I can't be sure. Good luck!
PS Has anyone gotten an email yet? No status change and no email has me feeling like --->
