I just got an email like that from Skadden.

Anyone hear anymore from SEMW? There seems to still be lots of firms that haven't submitted invites yet.

If you applied to Skadden Chicago, this is a good sign.

Are you implying that not everyone who applied got the e-mail? I applied to Skadden Chicago and got the e-mail but Skadden is a huge reach for me.

Non-WUSTLer here but at CCBA people who got the diversity identification got Skadden Chicago. Maybe its different from OCI bidding.

I'm not sure. It seemed like when the Sidley email came out not everyone got it, so I'm guessing it was the same for Skadden but who knows

Got the pre-select for Sidley Chicago, did not get any Sidley email. Also got Drinker Biddle. So far, just those two everything else is "pending"

Gross I only got two preselects from Chicago MCGC and none from NY MCGC. Lets hope the unveiling of SEMW goes a bit better.

Mass mail and get in touch with the contacts at firms in your home market you've developed through networking. If you haven't been networking, mass mail like crazy and hope for the best. If you strike out completely, decide pretty quickly if you're going to gun for a small firm, gov, or PI, because you need to start tailoring your resume in that direction and networking.

You should be mass mailing regardless of how many screeners you have. You can still strike out with 30+ screeners, and you don't want to wait until you're not getting callbacks or offers to start mass mailing.

What are peoples success rates in getting extra interviews when they are in New York? I got preselected for a small amount which I'm not suprised by(top 1/3 no journal), and I kind want to scrounge up a few more.

If the firms still have all their available slots listed, does that mean they have not submitted their invitations yet? I count 3 Chicago and 2 NYC with their full 19-21 spots still listed

I'm guessing/hoping that's what it means....although Ropes & Gray for Chicago has done some preselect, they just had a high number of available slots.

This is probably a dumb question but the Chicago "walk around" program means we show up to the firm, right? Like get there extra early so you can check in with the building/firm receptionist before being shown into the interview room? While the NYC programs (both SEMW and MCGC) are all at the Doubletree? Trying to figure out if the room assignments for the Chicago firms mean anything or were just randomly put there by the firms.
