Re: DF, Will I get an offer 2015
I'm at a firm with small class. I naturally talk too much, particularly when I get nervous. The first week I think was fine b/c everyone went out of their way to "meet and greet." But I accidentally pissed off one partner (e.g. after getting assignments, I was checking in 2-3 times a day "am I doing this right"). Partner was nice about it. I've learned my lesson -- I will shut up for the rest of summer. Question: am I already no offered, or is this just a strike? (I figure it's an easy problem to fix, so assuming I fix it, will I be okay?)

I have a beard. Partner told me that I was hired becuase my beard reminded me of a former well-liked colleague.

Anonymous User wrote:DF I'm scared. Last night I went out to my first taco Tuesday with some girl (717) I met on Tinder. After a couple of drinks and some banter we start making out. Things are going well so I invite her back to the firm to impress her some more. It works. We have a quick 30 minute sex session in my office and head over to her place afterwards. This morning I walk into the office with my secretary and the first thing we notice is a pair of panties on the floor. Because I'm an idiot I blurt out, "oh did you drop these?" She did not laugh. Did a quick walk back and told her I was joking and that they actually belonged to my SO. She continued to be unamused.
No offer?

gpa dropped .06 points this spring, but brought me from slightly above median to a little below. I am guessing it won't matter?

depends on the economy. S&P dropped 1% today. Gonna have to sweat this one out.Anonymous User wrote:gpa dropped .06 points this spring, but brought me from slightly above median to a little below. I am guessing it won't matter?

Usually come in at 9:30, not going to get there until 10-10:10. Had a SA event last night that was pretty rowdy

Don't play, just be social. Otherwise you'll look weird missing every gameAnonymous User wrote:Hate softball and would rather watch GoT for two hours.Danger Zone wrote:Why? you are missing out on a great opportunity to socialize with people outside of work. Going to chill at the softball game and drinking a few beers is a better use of your time than watching GoT. That being said, if you are making an effort to socialize with your co-workers at other times, you should be okayAnonymous User wrote:Hate softball and would rather watch GoT for two hours.Danger Zone wrote:Why? They keep reminding us not to have sex with attorneys or staff. What the hell is going on in this firm? Is this normal? Who would want to bang a summer anyway?

In Texas, for example, this is the main reason that 1L SAs exist.

Yeah. I blow at softball but it was still a ton of fun, not to mention great bonding time with people to try to figure out who you may want to work with (if you have any say in that).gk101 wrote:you are missing out on a great opportunity to socialize with people outside of work. Is it like older males creeping on young female SA's? That seems plausible I guess.

Young associate of any gender with SA of any gender seems fairly plausible, no? Why's it gotta be creepy old peoplezacharus85 wrote:Is it like older males creeping on young female SA's? That seems plausible I guess.

Yeah that's probably fair. Most of my SA peers still seem like college kids and even the young associates seem like real adults, but there isn't really THAT much age difference between a junior and a SA so it's all plausible.Danger Zone wrote:Young associate of any gender with SA of any gender seems fairly plausible, no? I just think it would be an insurmountable emotional maturity gap but now that I type that it's sounding more like a 'me' thing and not likely a general rule.
Also I think I'm not at a crazy sextopia firm like some of y'all

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
