Re: Southeastern Minority Job Fair 2015
I've done two callbacks now. Offer came from yesterday's, but both were similar. Questions were just real general like "what led you to the law?" and "what attracts you to our firm?" then just organic conversations from that. Most of the interviews were maybe 5-10 minutes where they asked me stuff and then asked whether I had questions. So I asked questions and then conversation just flowed from there. Neither cb was overly formal; both had a lot of laughing and casual conversation.Anonymous User wrote:Question for the poster who received an offer:
What was the callback like? Was it a series of SEMJF style interviews or was it more formal, legal questions?
My SEMJF interviews seemed much more relaxed than my career center told me they would be. They were actually fun and talked very little about the firm, and more about personal fun things like fishing and traveling. I'm wondering if I should prepare differently for the callback.
Thanks

One ding, zero callbacks. ATL/FL. The wait is unbearable. Headed to LavLaw next week though, so hopefully I have better luck there.

In the past, decisions started rolling out the first week of August. Hopefully, we will start seeing movement this week.

Can people also list caliber of school + ranking with their screener to callback ratio?

Are these dings via email or letter? I'm wondering if I'll have a nice pile of mail waiting for me upon my return to school.

My one ding was email. Waiting on the others. I'm away from the address I had on my materials till late next week. So I won't know if I got any letter dings.

Re: Southeastern Minority Job Fair 2015
I've got my first callback tomorrow and everywhere I look it says bring "extra" copies of the resume, writing sample, and transcript. Yet, it does not say how many extras. Any advice? I'm meeting with 5 attorneys total.
Update: I decided to bring one for each interviewer. If anything, I'll have extras for OCI.
Result: I brought lots of things and was not asked for any. Each interviewer already had a copy of my resume with them.

Would it be safe to assume I was dinged if I haven't heard from a firm that I interviewed with but didn't get a pre select through OCI?

Anyone hear from FL firms yet? I thought we would know either way by now. I guess not. Lots of silence.
