School Range: T30
Market(s): NYC, Chicago, Texas, Indy, Michigan, Atlanta, random secondaries
Approximate class rank: Top 10%
Law review/secondary journal: Law Review
Work experience: no professional experience
IP background: n/a
Anything else that might have an impact? Applied extremely broadly and mass mailed like crazy.
Screening Interviews: 65
Callbacks received: 18
Callbacks accepted: 16
Offers w/vault ranges: 5 (V20, V70, 1 boutique, 2 midsize)
How many firms just didn't get back with you with a rejection/callback? 2
Thank-you notes sent: After the first 5 callbacks, then no.

Accepted at the boutique. Callback to screener ratio was a result of not being able to convince of ties primarily (and average interviewing). Offer to callback ratio was similar (for example, 2 Texas callbacks with no Texas ties).

Maybe it's not what you meant, but it is what you said. This thread always concerns me a bit because 0Ls and 1Ls might get an overly rosy picture of OCI because people who strike out are far less likely to report their results. Your post played into that, which is why I responded.
I'm waiting to post until I'm 100% sure I struck out. My current 95% isn't good enough....so basically furthering the rosy picture.

(actual idiot)

Huh, so a thread that is on it's face a collection of anecdotes is subject to reporting bias? Do you have any other insights? Lol, your groundbreaking observation is correct and all, but you can fuck right off trying to make it on the back of my totally innocuous post. I'm the last person who would paint a rosy picture of OCI.

I mean either you're being sarcastic or you're saying that this person's results are representative.
You're right, there is literally no middle ground there.

Either you're being sarcastic or you're saying that this person's results are at least somewhat representative.
If 1Ls find this thread and ignore the rest of TLS and decide to get complacent they deserve what's coming to them IMO.

Oh hey, I see you ninja-edited this to where it's actually entirely devoid of substance. Cool. In that case, yes, I was saying that (considering it's representative of at least one person's experience with that situation) the person's results are at least somewhat representative of what someone in that situation might experience.

Agree. And even if a bunch of people do do that, this thread is still one of the more valuable resources on TLS for guiding outcome expectations.

What kind of complacency are you worried about? Sub-median LR write on T14 bros won't mass mail enough? They'll just bid V10 firms and call it a day? If they do that because North said "Huh, interesting" off-handedly ITT then that's totally on them duder.

Yeah nothing really ~grinds my gears~ quite like a late-to-the-party mischaracterization of one of my posts to make a glaringly obvious point. Just riles me up bro what can I say
