I had double digit callbacks as well, and just recently got an offer. A lot of firms were upfront about taking some time to make decisions. It took me 3 weeks from cb to offer. Keep the faith

11 callbacks, 1 offer, 5 dings

Edit: weirdest part was the place that gave me an offer called me within a couple hours and said they liked me so much that they wanted to let me now. So idk what is going on with the other ones

Keep faith guys, offers are still coming out. I know a number of people at my school in the same boat, and offers have been trickling in for them.

I'll echo the hustle message. Like three weeks ago I went 0/3 for callbacks and thought I was done. I did more mailing and more following up and recently just did 4 callbacks and have 2 more left. No offer yet but it isn't too late to create more opportunities for yourself. Keep following up and thinking of extra places to apply too.

Yeah, mass mailing hasn't proved entirely fruitless for me, either. I got two and only really started mailing a week or so ago.

If you still don't have an offer then yea mass mail everywhere. My callbacks have ranged from Delaware to New Jersey to Birmingham Alabama. Try to come up with reasons for wanting to be in places and if you don't hear back after two or three weeks follow up.

apply everywhere. Try texas, birmingham, charlotte smaller southern markets that pretty much dont care about your grades because you have CCN on your resume

I disagree with this advice. These firms care about ties. They aren't going to be overly impressed with CCN. In this economy, jobs are going to people with ties/connections AND a T14 degree. If you don't have the ties to smaller secondary markets, you aren't likely to get any bites from those firms

(This summer I did the same thing- Secondary southern market w ties and T14. All the people in my SA class had ties and were from UVA.)

So? If you don't have anything better to do with your time, then what do you have lose? The worst they can do is reject you.

And you might be able to come up with reasons you want to be in a city that aren't tie related. Charlotte for example is a big financial center so you could say you have an interest in that or something.

I mean he can apply. Go for it. I'm just saying that (1) they aren't going to be impressed with CCN and (2) he'll likely need a compelling reason to be there. Almost all of these firms have SA classes in the single digits (often less than 5). Apply away

Honestly, leave no stone unturned. If I had told myself my chances were low so don't apply, I wouldn't have 3 CBs i have scheduled next week in Delaware, DC, and Phili (no ties whatsoever).

I won't be satisfied until I mass-mailed every reasonable market (note - not like Missouri). even if i'm offerless in big law, at least I'll know I tried everything I could possibly do to make it work. The worst thing to me would be having second doubts.

so, onto mailing chicago and texas..

5 callbacks in the last week of August / first week of September. Followed up earlier this week but still not a peep from any of them. :( No offers, no dings, for some not even travel reimbursements - and the hotels billed me.

Where do I mass mail?
I already mass mailed the larger firms. I mass mailed DE, CT, NJ (I go to school in NY) and landed one callback there.
I'm out of places. What do I do now besides hopelessly following up with them?
