i mean, yeah it's a really minor thing but given the ridiculous ways anon gets used on this damn forum might as well get it right when it's used for an ostensibly appopriate reason.

Because IMO it's good to know. If I end up with multiple offers, I would take the firm that has a track record of 100% offers over any other firm, because like most TLSers I am aspie and not good at law-ing.lacrossebrother wrote:Why are you guys reporting 2012 no offers?

Please keep updating this thread. K&L Gates was near the top of my list and has immediately dropped to the bottom because of the information reported here. Keep it coming.

Re: Where I got no offered
As someone who was a SA with K&L Gates a few years ago, I can say with some confidence their offer % for their southern offices (including tx) has hovered somewhere around 66% over the past few years. If you have other options, go with them. My SA class knew at least 25% were not getting offers (partner on the hiring committee told a couple of us over lunch one day). It was an incredibly stressful summer. Would not recommend.Anonymous User wrote:Please keep updating this thread. Looks like they no offered 1/9 in 2013, but I don't have any more detailed information than that, sorry.Anonymous User wrote:Thanks for providing this info. I am considering K&L Chicago. S&C, or the friend? S&C apparently said something along the lines of, you can return, but you should consider other options. Friend is shell-shocked and unclear on what exactly happened/caused the problems, and also still contemplating accepting the cold offer. I don't work at S&C, so I've had no experience working with said friend and haven't heard anything from their coworkers that would explain things. Friend is a sociable person, especially by S&C's rather low standards for personality/"fit". I am very surprised.Mal Reynolds wrote:What did they do, in general terms.Anonymous User wrote:Sullivan & Cromwell (NY) cold-offered a good friend of mine this year.

Your friend should get on the mass mail game now. Should be able to swing a position at another firm since they can say they received a SullCrom offer.

It's not like it's a worse choice than accepting a no offer.mephistopheles wrote:Druid wrote:Your friend should get on the mass mail game now. Should be able to swing a position at another firm since they can say they received a SullCrom offer.

Re: Where I got no offered
Yeah I'm pretty confident s/he could accept with little fallout given how many summers/first years S&C has. In her shoes that's what I would do and I would just lateral to another firm at my first opportunity. In terms of 3L hiring there's no way it will be obvious s/he got no offered since S&C is seen as an unequivocal ~100% firm. It will look like s/he is moving for fit reasons.
