IME in-house employers have never requested official transcript, though the big ones often do have some type of 'verification' that comes after you are already hired and usually involves calling the school to verify you got a degree (anything else is protected). Cant remember with firms, but never been worried about it since I never lied on a resume. I dont think firms can get a transcript directly from your law school, pretty sure you have to request one be sent to them.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Mon Nov 16, 2020 1:56 amSort of related question.. do employers request your official transcript after you accept an offer? Do they reach out to your law school directly for this?

Re: Falsifying GPA
A 2L SA did this at my firm one summer. They received an F in sec reg and falsified their unofficial transcript to try to conceal it. We found out when they had to submit their official transcript, and we no offered them. No idea how 3L OCI worked out for that student.
