If by "absolutely nothing" you mean you didn't do a phone screener, then yeah, probably a safe assumption.Anonymous User wrote: I'm assuming if we haven't heard absolutely anything from DHS at this point then it's a definite no-go.

No phone screener from DoE over here. Guess I'll count that one as a ding on my list.
These honors programs are killing me. I applied to 12 of them and only made it to a first round interview (then a ding) in one so far. Maybe my luck will be better in the private sector.

The wording of 'absolutely nothing' sounds much better than 'absolutely anything' (edited original post as a result lol). Although the fact that I've heard nothing is a bit sad. I thought I had a good chance with DHS considering my past experience, but Govt. Honors recruiting is definitely unpredictable.Anonymous User wrote:If by "absolutely nothing" you mean you didn't do a phone screener, then yeah, probably a safe assumption.Anonymous User wrote: I'm assuming if we haven't heard absolutely anything from DHS at this point then it's a definite no-go.

Re: Government Honors Programs 2014-2015 Cycle
To the anon above, I applied to NSA honors and had my screening interview and second interview earlier this week.
as for DHS, I've heard that they were supposed to send out second round between last Wednesday and yesterday. I haven't heard anything back either, but I'm not going to give up hope until I hear that people have been offered second rounds on here since its only been a few weeks since my first interview.

Selected for DOE phone screener. Top 10%, passed bar exam, graduated magna cum laude and Order of the Coif. No experience directly related to environment/energy, but I interned for USAO, DOL, and for a federal appellate court judge. Anyone else selected for phone screener a graduate?

For those who got screeners/interviews with NSA and DHS, would you mind putting your stats? I am planning to apply next year; it would be great to know if I will be competitive!

I also had a second interview with NSA but it was a few weeks ago. Does anyone know what the next stages are in the hiring process?

My interviewers told me that the recruitment committee will forward a recommended list to the GC, who may choose to interview candidates or just select them for hire based off of interview notes/application package. Apparently we should find out by thanksgiving...but who knows.

From DOE Screener: 2-3 weeks on second round interviews. Did anybody have a chance to ask how many persons received screeners/would make it to the second round?

Re: Government Honors Programs 2014-2015 Cycle
OP here. I received a 2nd 'initial' screener because of a mixup. I was told that they were overwhelmed with apps (not surprising in this economy), that online apps weren't reviewed until after the closing date and that it could take weeks for them to receive mail-in apps (which I mailed at the closing date). I got the impression that they initially focus more on mail-in resumes, although the online app is required. So for anyone applying next year, I would suggest sending supplementary materials in early. I was also told that they wrap up 2nd interviews this week and that the committee will convene next week to decide who moves forward after 2nd rounds. Conditional offers should go out around Thanksgiving.Anonymous User wrote:Did anyone in this thread apply to NSA Honors or knows anyone who did and has heard anything? Did they happen to say if they would be calling people for a second-round interview on a rolling basis, or can we safely assume it's over?Anonymous User wrote:For the ppl asking about DHS, I was offered a second-round interview last week.

Had phone interview with DOE last week. They are interviewing through this week as well. They are likely only hiring 2-3 attorneys.

Has anyone heard from the State Department (entry-level, not the summer program) or know anything about their timeline?

Haven't heard back yet but I also think they said they don't make decisions until December or January.Anonymous User wrote:Re: Department of Labor. Anyone gotten a rejection letter after an interview? Do they even send rejection letters at all?

I interviewed with the FTC Competition Bureau on Friday. They have 3 spots open after making offers to their summers. I believe they just started interviewing.

Re: Government Honors Programs 2014-2015 Cycle
So my circumstances were a little unique. I had an interview with DOJ ATR on Friday and the FTC called while I was flying up Thursday afternoon to offer a 20 minute phone screener-type interview. I called back when I landed in DC and said I was in town and free Friday morning. After checking with the hiring committee, they decided to go ahead and do a full interview Friday morning. I do not know if the schedule accommodation had more to do with convenience or if they viewed me as a strong candidate.
They have you do three 30 minute interviews with hiring committee attorneys. Two were with deputy section chiefs, one with a staff attorney. Another staff attorney joined one of the deputies. I was told they make offers on a rolling basis, and I could expect to hear in a week. But they do seem to be early in the process, and I doubt they have offered anything more than screening interviews.

I received a hand addressed and signed rejection letter from State (which I took as odd), but my friend has neither interviewed nor received a rejection letter at this point.Anonymous User wrote:Has anyone heard from the State Department (entry-level, not the summer program) or know anything about their timeline?
