Does anyone know exactly how the preselect system will be run? As I said in another thread, I can see it working horribly, where all the preselects go to the top 15% of the class, with everyone else having 5-10 interviews. Has OCS clarified how this will work?

Apparently at UVa the preselect system runs first, and there is a cap on how many interviews a student can have. If the student reaches this interview cap through preselects, they are not run through the lottery at all. This would make more sense, but it's not clear how the process will work at Georgetown.

I assume that's how it will work as well, but I don't see why all the preselects would go to the top 15% of the class. Firms that hire at lower GPAs won't waste a pre-select on a top 15% student who isn't likely to accept an offer.

just got a letter in the mail re: top 5%, so i don't think they are doing emails this year. not to throw out a humble brag, but what am i supposed to do with this info now since resumes for EIW are locked in? seems kinda useless, and I'm wondering why gulc waited until mid-july to pass out the info.

Congrats. Interesting, last year they sent an email in June and followed up with the snail mail.

It's cool though, b/c journal stuff didn't go out last year until after EIW bids were due. Everyone just brings an updated resume to screeners for journals, so just do that.

the letter came from the dean's office. fyi my gpa is 3.7, and the rank is based on the upperclass gpa cutoff since i'm an evening student.

sorry, i meant to say 3.76. they lump second year evening students in the upperclassman ranking, not in the section 7 ranking.

Does anyone know when EIW and Journal results are being released this year?

For EIW, I think Monday 7/28. The employer's manual says they'll recieve their tentative schedules on 7/28. They were released the same Monday last year. Also, I believe journal was released at the same time last year.

How are we to write this on our resume? Do we update mass mails w/ a new resume or a send an email that says btw I am on journal?

According to last year's EIW, results are released tomorrow (despite the email saying Tuesday). It would be great if everyone (myself included) posts how many screeners they get.

This thread is pretty quiet and more activity is beneficial for everyone.

If you recall, EIW bidding was extended by one day for the July 4th holiday; Tuesday EIW results makes sense.

The email that said it would be Tuesday was way too specific for it not to be. Hopefully, it's early in the day I can't see why it couldn't be released first thing tomorrow.
