Anyone else doing the Rocky Mountain one?
Bidding opens tomorrow morning... I have no idea how this works. Any tips?

Damn, that sucks. Guess it's Denver, though... aren't many jobs to be had.Anonymous User wrote:There's only one job for 3Ls. SmhRobb wrote:Anyone else doing the Rocky Mountain one?

How are you seeing the employers though? I don't have an OCI tab like it said in the email, and when I go to the "Job Fair" tab and click Search, nothing shows up.

I see the same thing, but I wasn't sure whether there is a problem on the organizer's end or whether there are just no employers.Robb wrote:Damn, that sucks. anyone going to the Bay Area minority fair? No ties, T-10, top third any idea of how hard it will be to land an offer?

How many pre-select interviews do these firms typically give, and if we do get pre-selected, how much do grades matter at that point... like would the fair interview be more akin to a screener or a callback (with a stronger emphasis on fit, etc.)?

Top 10-15% at a t-10, non diverse. Should I go to a job fair for my secondary market that I was going to bid on at OCI to save the OCI bids for other firms? Or are you more likely to get callbacks at OCI?

Same questions. I'm waiting to see if I'm pre-selected at more than 3-4 firms b/c I don't want to spend $900+ for 1-2 interviews.Anonymous User wrote:I'm going! I'm attending this fair to save bids for OCI. These west coast firms barely hire 2ls at any level from my LS anyway. This is probably true for any east coast LS. I think you should definitely do it even if you're non-diverse. Save the OCI bids for a market where you'll almost certainly get an offer like NYC.Anonymous User wrote:Top 10-15% at a t-10, non diverse. Does anyone know what is going on with the Vault/MCCA Diversity fair? Is it still happening?
I've been searching and found almost nothing about it except for a link which allows me to register for the 2013 fair.

I read the thread on the Bay Area fair from last year and it seemed like you had to have pretty great stats and be a true URM to get pre selects. A ton of people reported only getting like one lottery interview.

I don't think the true URM part is necessarily true. For my BADCF, I was ~10-15% at T6 and got 10+ pre-selects, not as a true URM.

I take that to mean that top third at a top 10 wont be enough...

How much do BADCF firms care about Bay Area ties?

Don't bother. They are disorganized as hell. Last year I got 2 interviews, spent the money on travel, then at 6 pm the night before they emailed to say they fucked up the schedule and cancelled 1 of my interviews (to be rescheduled at the firm's office for a later date). Thankfully, I was able to refund my travel arrangements to use for another day, but I was pissed as hell.Anonymous User wrote:Does anyone know what is going on with the Vault/MCCA Diversity fair? Their entire website and registration process is fucked up as all-getout. Took me forever to successfully register and I still haven't been able to find the slightest bit of useful information on the actual event. Probably going to cancel and just stick with Lavender.Anonymous User wrote:Don't bother. They are disorganized as hell. FYI - got an email from DuPont yesterday with my interview schedule. 4 interviews...all with firms in markets I have no ties or intention of working in and 2 firms I have never heard of. Almost positive I'm not going to accept it, but a heads up for y'all to check your emails.

I received a transcript update request from a firm at the BADCF.
Interview season hasn't begun yet and I feel overwhelmed by thinking about jobs, transferring, and due to my summer internship.

Eh. I was overworked the six years I worked post undergrad. Making a decision as to where I ultimately want to end up is overwhelming. Dat buyer's remorse.
