From what I can tell, there isn't a deadline. As for the rec letters, I had my recommenders email them.Anonymous User wrote:Was there a deadline to apply to the Texas Supreme Court? I don't see one listed, and I haven't seen anyone on here mention any interviews yet. I'm thinking about sending my application materials this week. For those that applied to the judges accepting email applications, did your CSO or recommenders email the two recommendation letters separate from your own email with your application materials?

Phone call from a South NJ Trial Court judge today. Hoping this leads to a wave of Trenton and below interviews.

How many judges have people heard from in NJ?

No centralized process....you apply to individual judges. And most of the judges don't even hire term clerks. Most have career clerks, or let their term clerks stay on indefinitely.Anonymous User wrote:Anyone have any experience with Philly Common Pleas? Is it purely applying to individual justices? I would think that they have some kind of centralized process but I'm not sure.

Got my first call yesterday. Sent out 50+ applications. I'm thinking some judges are taking their time.

For trial courts - have gotten letters from a few judges saying they were done about a week ago. Got a call for an interview last week from another judge. One letter from a judge who's waiting until winter.

What area of the state were the letters from?

6 trial court interviews in Northen NJ next week. One App Div judge called to schedule for the week of the 24th (was hoping to do that one first, oh well) and another trial judge called to offer an interview last week but scheduled it for October. A few letters from judges indicating that they are just beginning to review resumes.

Can confirm this about MA Appeals. Seems like their process is really drawn out compared to othersAnonymous User wrote:School says MA Court Appeals starting to interview.

Unless you can demonstrate significant NJ ties, the state judges are an uphill climb to secure even with an interview. Most have remained incredibly loyal to the local schools. As of now, most assignment/presiding and Appellate Division judges have made calls. Supreme Court has followed the federal hiring plan, but they are finishing up.

Both Rutgers and Seton Hall primarily. You'll see occasional NY Law School, Temple, Villanova here and there, but it's mostly NJ based schools because the judges are local graduates and value ties. If you have genuine NJ ties - you grew up there, you moved away to go to law school, you're fine. However, if you're spamming them with no ties and so forth it will tough and I'd anticipate lackluster results.Anonymous User wrote:local as in NJ only? or Philly schools, too?Anonymous User wrote:Unless you can demonstrate significant NJ ties, the state judges are an uphill climb to secure even with an interview. Moreover, unless you are truly infatuated with getting clerkship experience an NJ trial level clerkship is not going to open many doors in the NY/NJ metro area. Some Superior Court judges are well connected, but most come from small firms, pd/local county prosecutors offices. Appellate Division is a bit better, but not much. Supreme Court clerkships are valued but most of the students who pull those down have offers or are attractive to big firms in the first place.

14th COA received "hundreds" of apps so far for 3 spots. Wide range of schools (T3-TTTT). Some interviews have occurred. Not sure about offers.Anonymous User wrote:Updates on Texas?

Does anyone know when the CT Appellate Court traditionally gets back to applicants about interviews? Thanks.
