Offer late last week, interviewed the week before. Took just under two weeks for me. Good luck all!

I had mine more than 3 weeks ago and haven't heard a thing. It seems however (at least from Penn's OCI Thread) that Cadwalader has been giving out offers for a little while now.

FYI: received an offer recently and was discussing with recruiting and a hiring partner. Heard that they didn't want to have an oversubscribed class and so do not have that many outstanding offers out at the present time. For those of you who haven't heard, this might mean you're in the "hold" pile and may still receive an offer as folks with outstanding offers decline them.

I just withdrew today; they specifically asked that we give them notice faster than 28 days if possible, which lends credence to the above. Hopefully my withdrawal will benefit someone on this board!

Just got a call saying that I was still being considered.

Incidentally, I had accepted an offer last week and sent them an email informing them pretty much right after. CB was the week before labor day weekend.

Cadwalader summer here. I think things HAVE improved, but it's definitely to gauge how much based only on 11 weeks. The most notorious "screamer" rainmaker partner Dennis Block has been gone for a few years. Stories of his antics were legion at the firm. The morale of the litigation department seemed especially good to me.

This isn't to say it's a better place to work at than other biglaw firms; I can't speak to that. But it doesn't seem as bad as it was a few years ago.
This is key. Dennis Block is a notoriously evil person to work for, and he's at Greenburg Traurig now. I've met lawyers at firms all over New York who have Dennis Block horror stories. He's easily 60% of the reason Cadwalader has the reputation it has for being a miserable place to work; so I would be more concerned about going to Greenburg Traurig if there's a chance you'll be doing M&A work.

What are these stories? I'm curious because I know someone who's thinking about applying to GT for M&A next year...
