Re: UChicago OCI 2012
Since they've extended bidding, thought I would post. Transfer, targeting only NYC, focused on lit. Top 10% at T30, wrote onto a secondary. Ideas for what to do with the leftover bids (or is it OK not to use them)? Should I add another market?

Seems like you might be aiming a little low. Also, why would you bother bidding Gunderson of you want lit?Anonymous User wrote:Since they've extended bidding, thought I would post. Agreed. 2013 transfer here and something like 70% of the transfer class last year had at least one v10 offer. Aim higher.Emma. wrote:Seems like you might be aiming a little low. Re: UChicago OCI 2012
You generally won't get all of your top 20, and then often just a smattering of interviews above the top 20, so if there are firms that are your top choices, bid them lower than 20.Anonymous User wrote:178, 3 yrs of work experience in banking. probably want to do transactional/corporate work. bidding primarily NY, with some big Chicago firms here and there. any thoughts? i'd like to interview with most of top ny firms if possible, but wasn't sure if i would get them if i bid around 20ish.

Man, I stayed up late on Thursday to get my bidlist ready and sure enough the deadline gets pushed back. I know moving the deadline didn't make me any worse off, but it's still weird that OCS would move the deadline with just 4 hours left.

Unprofessional as fuck. Not that OCS was previously known for their professionalism.Bildungsroman wrote:Man, I stayed up late on Thursday to get my bidlist ready and sure enough the deadline gets pushed back. I've heard you typically get most of your top 20 and a scattering after that. So 25-30?Anonymous User wrote:does anyone have an idea of how many screeners are considered to be average?

We've been told to expect about 14-16 of our top 20 and the rest is a crap shoot.gyarados wrote:I've heard you typically get most of your top 20 and a scattering after that. So 25-30?Anonymous User wrote:does anyone have an idea of how many screeners are considered to be average?

Some of us, like myself, didn't really understand or care how things worked and will likely get many fewer as a result of bidding like a stupid.Haymarket wrote:We've been told to expect about 14-16 of our top 20 and the rest is a crap shoot.gyarados wrote:I've heard you typically get most of your top 20 and a scattering after that. I plan on walking into my Wachtell screener with a half finished beer, chugging the rest in front of the interviewer, and then sitting down lounging with my arm over the back of the chair.JollyGreenGiant wrote:Wachtell didn't even fill up for our class.
