S&C gave out bonsai trees and the usual shoulder bags last year. Little jelly of the kids getting cookies this year.

Agreed. I already have a lot of the things the other firms sent out (ipod, kindle, gym bag, and sadly even a snuggie), so I think it's nice of them to do a donation instead of giving me one more thing I don't really need or want. However, if they are going to make a charitable donation in their summers' names, I think it would be nicer to give us some choice in which charity the gifts are going to and disclose the amount, even if it's small. I'm sure it would be a little more time-consuming on their end to do it that way, but not much, and it would have come off a lot better.
