School range: T50
Market(s): California Bay Area
Approx. class rank: top 10%
Law review: Yes
Screening Interviews: 19
Mass mails: 0
Callbacks received: 1 (still haven't heard from about 8 firms, assuming dings at this point though)
Callbacks accepted: 1
Offers w/vault ranges: 1 - v20, accepted
I am absolutely thrilled about the offer I got because it is the firm I most wanted to work for. Before I got the offer, I was feeling pretty depressed about my lack of CBs. People with similar stats at my school had more (sometimes many more) CBs than I did. I think I just did not do a good job in screening interviews of convincing them that I really want to work in Biglaw. My background was so focused on an area of law that big firms don't do that I guess they thought I would not stay with them after the summer. Working for a big firm is actually what I really want to do, though, and I wish I had realized earlier that the answer I was giving for "do you want to keep working in [area of law that we do not do] in the future?" was not good enough.
Oh well, it all worked out in the end! Maybe the universe was just trying to point a big fat arrow at this one firm saying "work here!!"

Re: Fall Recruiting: Final Results
Boalt guy from above here; have 2 offers out of the 8 callbacks I whittled it down to; I misinterpreted "offers" as "offers in hand" - I don't know anyone who's got final decisions on their entire recruiting season.spondee wrote:Is it even real? Didn't Boalt just finish their OCI two weeks ago (or less)? I'd think it's too little time to have received rejections from every CB. Seems like an MS EE 'well above median' at Boalt's gonna end with an offer.RVP11 wrote:Or: How to end up at PLIP as a 3Llurker999 wrote:You done fucked up son.Anonymous User wrote:School range: Boalt

Mass mails: 10
Callbacks received: 30 (BS,MS EE)
Callbacks accepted: 8 (basically, all the top dogs in IP lit)
Offers w/ vault ranges: Zero.
This is why you schedule ALL your callbacks until you receive an offer.

Re: Fall Recruiting: Final Results
School range: Lower T-14
Market(s): DC only
Approx. class rank: 30-35% (transfer from T30)
Law review: No (secondary journal)
Screening Interviews: 15 (all DC)
Mass mails: After bidding results came out, I sent letters/resume to most DC firms.
Callbacks received: 4
(One was non-DC, during the screener they told me I had a better shot at another office)
Callbacks accepted: 4
(V20; V100 [top firm in DC & first choice]; V100; non-Vault)
Offers: V100 [first choice]; withdrew from others.
I know I'm fortunate to land a DC gig and think WE before/during school and the early timing of the callback helped a lot.
