any idea of what people are planning to do if they get no CBs? i figure jumping into a gorge has become exceedingly complicated so i'm considering doing something that might actually be productive

There's still OCI in Sept., and independent outreach, especially to smaller firms, justice department, other gov't work - plenty of options left if big law isn't going to go.

Hess said not to waste time doing independent outreach to big law firms if you get no CBs because they either probably aren't hiring if they weren't at the job fairs, or you probably won't hear back if you didn't at the job fairs..

Smaller firms would work though

White & Case: Aya Kobori.
Cahill: Joan Frankel (? no confirmation one way or another on this one...)
Jones Day: Matt Lampe & Marguerite Dougherty.
Paul Hastings: Cheryl R. Saban, Allan Bloom (NY offices)

Firms that haven't made a sound:
Shearman

Please feel free to correct me if i'm wrong.

Clifford is either dramatically increasing the class size from what it is this summer (5 rising 3Ls in the NYC office according to NALP), or it is going to be very, very difficult to get an SA position with them.
