I'm finally off! Got an offer at a mid-sized firm in a secondary market. Still waiting on a few others (4 CBs in the past 2 weeks), but it is definitely nice to have something in the bag!

Which mid-sized market if you don't mind me asking? (East/Midwest/South/Southwest/West). Also, were your other CB's same market?

Southwest. All of my other CB's have been in CA, where I go to school. This firm randomly interviewed at my school, and i guess they liked me.

Rejection letters from on-hold CBs and emails from mass-mailing started flooding in yesterday (NY). I guess that's movement!

So... 3 CB's, 1 ding, 2 silence. One firm told me via email (upon my inquiry) that they would make final decisions the first week in Oct. What are the chances the offer could come on a Thur. or Fri.? Feeling pretty scared...

Good luck! I'm waiting on my last CB from two weeks ago and the recruiting committee was supposed to meet sometime this week. No news yet, can't think about anything else.

I KNOW! It's terrible... I keep thinking that my phone is ringing, but its not... and I am scared to check the mailbox. I just want it to be over!

Hey guys, just wanted you to know stuff is still happening. Barnes & Thornburg (Chi office) just asked me for a callback. I'm going to decline (I jumped off this boat awhile back) but thought it might be encouraging to know that some firms are moving slowly, still. Don't lose hope!

+1, got an offer from a firm from a callback over three weeks ago. Friend had a similar experience this week with a different firm. First round of offers are running up against their 4 week deadline and firms are starting to replace the ones that turned them down with fresh offers. Keep optimistic, and follow up with firms.

5 CBs... 3 rejections.. 1 waiting.. 1 was today.. 1 more tomorrow. today and tomorrow have small summer classes. feeling like im going to strike out, and am not happy. i don't even know what other options there are.

Keep your head up. You had 3 test runs and you're a better CB interviewer now than you were then. These last 2 firms don't know about your dings- they think you're great which is why they gave you CBs to begin with. Carpe Diem.

Also, it's not the end of the world- there are other options. Local firms in your area probably don't start hiring in earnest until winter/even spring.
