Any White & Case NY CBs or offers?

Had a CB. I’ve done many and this was the first that I knew in my first interview the fit wasn’t there and the culture wasn’t for me. Maybe it was the endless behavioral questions but their rep for decent culture didn’t come through for me

When did you have the interview at Debevoise? (also when did they offer..)

Not OP but I have a deb offer. took about a week to get the offer and i interviewed like 2 weeks ago or so

Frankly im suspect of any firm that uses automated interviewing or assessments. If my GPA and resume aren’t enough for you then I don’t wanna be at your firm

Same anon - thanks again. I have a couple of offers from firms which I'm more inclined to anyway; if they pull that during my interview, that's the end of that for me.

I applied to Latham and took the behavioral assessment (which wasn't entirely positive lol). The next day, I got an email asking if I wanted to set up a 20-minute phone conversation with a partner "so I can learn a little more about the firm." Is this a screener or informational interview? Has anyone had something like this at Latham?

How are people defining "behavioral questions"? To me, that means questions like, "tell me a time you demonstrated leadership." That seems like a pretty common type of question and an especially appropriate one when law firms already have a sense of your legal acumen through your GPA.

Ya that's a behavioral question. Is it really a good way to assess how good of an associate someone will be? It just gives an advantage to people who can tell stories really well, or even make up situations to answer these questions.

Yeah, it’s one thing if you’re being asked weird behavioral questions online pre-interview to you pick your favorite color and provide horoscope info… but it’s entirely reasonable for them to ask you expected behavioral questions during actual interviews.

Are you seriously telling me you’re yanking firms from a bid if they don’t ask you about your resume all afternoon? That’s useless.

One or two of these questions is normal and if done right can keep an interview flowing. But if a firm does a White and Case and asks almost exclusively behavioral questions, yeah, I'm not interested in your firm because it demonstrates you buy into stupid shit.
