Mayer Brown Chi ding. Mind is kinda blown on my lack of success in Chi. I went 4 for 7 in NY and 2 for 15 in Chi. It's funny cuz I originally bid all chicago but decided to throw some NY on the last day before bidding was due just to help my chances a bit. Thank the lord I did.

Which two Chicago firms did you get CBs from?Anonymous User wrote:Mayer Brown Chi ding. Mind is kinda blown on my lack of success in Chi. I went 4 for 7 in NY and 2 for 15 in Chi. Chicago seems to be moving slow so don't give up hope yet (unless, of course, you received a ding already).

Chicago doesn't move that slow for CBs, although I had rejections trickling in for a long time last year. It's just a really difficult market, which is why the first dozen pages of this thread was 3Ls/grads telling people w/o stellar GPAs who were looking at going all-in on Chicago to bid NYC. I'm not saying give up hope on Chicago if you haven't heard from firms there yet, but probably don't get your hopes up.

This should be set in stone for the next generation that wants to bid all Chi.scaliaantics wrote:This one probably isn't you. It's also Mayer Brown. They gave a lot of offers to Michigan people last year, and almost everyone accepted them, leading them to have a much bigger class this year than previous years.Anonymous User wrote:Mayer Brown Chi ding. Re: Michigan 2014 OCI Thread!!!!!!!
Skadden and Ropes. Not really any ties to Chi. I'm from the Midwest, and I sincerely wanted to be there, so I thought that'd be enough. I didn't think I'd be met with so much skepticism. Also, I realize I can't complain with what I got, but I was also really hoping for an office that's HQ'd in Chi. I'll have to see whether that's worth the concern.Anonymous User wrote:Wow. I appreciate the consolation, but when you take into account the dings from my top choices, KE, Sidley, Latham Chi, McDermott, all of them, I think it must be the lack of ties.Anonymous User wrote:It's also Mayer Brown. Also, Perkins CB today. Guess I went 3/15 lol.Anonymous User wrote:Any CBs from these Chicago firms/offices:
