I dont think PMing works since this is anonymous but hang in there man. You are not defined by your job. Sure, having that $160k salary right out of school to pay off your debts would have been nice, but you'll find a way. In the end, life always has a way of working itself out. Remember there are people in your life that love you for being you. Also you have so much to be proud of - you've already accomplished so much by getting into law school, especially Columbia law school. Go read your personal statement and maybe you'll get a better sense of why you even came to law school in the first place.

Grades/markets/# of CBs/etc? I want to let you know that it is still possible to get a firm job, likely market-paying, if you still want one. Depending on your grades, you probably aren't going to land V10 at this point, but there are still a lot of spots out there not filled, and CLS kids with decent grades are pretty near the front of the line. Even if your grades are not that great, don't despair. Friends I have landed SAs in October and November last year. Have you already mass mailed? Where are your ties?

You might also take this opportunity to figure out whether you really want to do big law. Was the problem that your heart is not in it? Also, have you been in touch with OCS? I am pretty sure they make an email list of people who struck out at EIP and send emails to them when firms come to them bc they didn't fill their summer class. Lastly, this does not reflect poorly on you. Since ITE, a portion of people have struck out at EIP. It has to be someone, and it does not mean those people are awkward or asocial. Good luck!

I know this must be an incredibly stressful time, but seriously talk to OCS and look at doing OCIs, etc. Steve Buchman in OCS is great, and also look at some government positions -- for example the NYC Law Department has a really excellent program and it is a great place to work full-time as well. It's also very highly respected, with many attorneys who still have a lot of contacts in private practice (meaning pretty solid exit options later on).

How do people know what days the committees meet?
