I just faxed my enrollment letter saying my first deposit had been received. Hopefully that should suffice...summertimechi wrote:i'm in the same boat, too.OverUnderWhelmed wrote:I feel like I'm the only one who hasn't received a response yet. I interviewed back in March, immediately submitted my LOR and official transcript, and then....nothing. Not even the email requesting a follow-up phone call. Anyone else still stranded in SEO limbo? Should I assume if I haven't gotten it by now, I'm just not going to?
i'm about to send in my seat deposit today...do i have to ask my school for a receipt to send to seo? or should i just send a copy of my signed commitment form? what exactly do we send as proof of commitment to a school?

Re: SEO Corporate Law
I was under the impression that an LoR was required in order for me to be accepted. I just don't remember where I read it. Same with transcript. I sent both in January.
I also emailed Sari re: when to be in NY and she suggested late May.

I'm still waiting to hear back. I'm actually happy I'm working on thesis because it's keeping my mind off of the waiting! This entire law school process has been tiring from all the waiting.

Ahh, I just realized I missed a call from someone from SEO! They wouldn't call me to reject me right?! That would be cruel.
Guess I will have to wait for tomorrow!

From the interview invitation email:
"The SEO Recommendation Form is attached. Please print this form and provide it to your recommender. We cannot provide the form as a Word document. We require one recommendation prior to reaching a decision. Your professor or employer should return the form to us directly via fax or mail as soon as possible. "

Question: Does everyone recieve an SEO follow-up email reminding you to send your enrollment receipt as soon as possible so as to make a decision on your file? Or people that they may be considering to offer an acceptance? Thanks ahead for any response.

I already found a summer sublet for $800/month! <3 Columbia housing! It's only about a 20 minute subway ride away from Midtown.

Re: SEO Corporate Law
Hi guys. I'm doing the SEO program this summer as well and am looking for housing now. If anyone's interested in teaming up to find a 2 or 3 bedroom please PM me.
I'm looking for something within a 20 minute commute from midtown and want to pay less than 1200/month.
p.s. does anyone know how much we'll be paid this summer?

Does anyone have an idea of when they'll be making their final decisions? It seems like so many people have gotten decisions already, but I'm still waiting. At what point should I just assume I'm not getting in?

Also looking for summer housing, and possibly roommate(s). I was going to sublet from a friend at CLS but she said that at bad times, the commute to Lower Manhattan can take ~40 minutes. So, I'd rather be Midtown or south. Chelsea, if I can miraculously find something affordable.

Re: SEO Corporate Law
I'll be living up at CLS. Coming from Los Angeles, a 40 minute commute is pretty amazing! I just can't seem to justify the cost of rent closer to Midtown. EHS housing in Times Square is pretty luxurious, but I'd have to live with 2 other people in one room and that would STILL be more expensive than my huge apartment share at Columbia housing.excitedutterance wrote:Also looking for summer housing, and possibly roommate(s). Re: SEO Corporate Law
Honestly, living way up by Columbia is a huge hassle especially if you're firm turns out to be in Midtown East or an inconvenient part of downtown. If cost is a huge concern then I would say Brooklyn or Long Island City might be better bets. Wait for your firm placement though, housing isn't tough to find right now and its probably better to wait to see where youre actually working

Re: SEO Corporate Law
I'm coming from LA too, but I'm still a college student, and I'm just not used to getting up as early as we're going to have to. That commute is a dealbreaker for me! I'm risking it and waiting for my firm placement. Worst case scenario, I have family friends I can crash with for a while.mp2012 wrote:I'll be living up at CLS. Re: SEO Corporate Law
I don't have friends and family I could crash with. If my firm placement would make the commute completely ridiculous, I might reconsider. I just wouldn't be able to pay upfront for three months' rent with EHS. Other room shares in the area (that I could find on Craigslist) were insanely expensive. It's just really difficult trying to get all of this worked out from California.

Anyone have any information on when we get firm placements (aside from "sometime in may")? The curiosity....
