Skadden - I have a “preliminary interview” next week that’s 2 hours long with “an attorney in the New York office”. Was not asked to fill out any random assessment... can anyone advise if this is a call back or not? Very confused. Never heard of a screening that’s 2 hours.

Any more insight on this from OP or anyone else? I got verbatim the same email, but the way mine was worded indicated I’d be interviewing for the full 2 hours, not just a 20 minute segment within those 2 hours.

Does anyone know the timelines for Latham NY or Orrick NY? I applied 1.5 weeks ago and two weeks ago, respectively. I finished the Latham assessment a few days ago.

Also, Debevoise said they didn't have a pre-OCI interview slot, the number of which is apparently limited, for me. They did tell me to bid on them for OCI. But would you say my chances might be lower since I they didn't give me a pre-OCI interview slot?

For reference, I'm top third at a low T14 and have done a lot of networking.

I’ve been waiting on Latham NY for a week or so longer than you. I’ve said this before ITT but I feel like they’re not going crazy rn because they have a quick deadline for accepting their offers. They’d miss a lot of candidates if they made them decide now.

Unfortunate for Deb but your chances are probably only very slightly lower. I have similar stats and have an offer, though maybe slightly higher school rank.

Respectfully I know of 7+ people at my school w/offers (T6) that received CBs and offers in the same week last week. Latham has actually been one of the more active firms during Pre-OCI this summer…

I got a Latham offer this week (a week after my CB). Did you do the behavioral assessment? It might not have gone in your favor. Not everything is about stats, and they’re trying to diversify their hiring.

This has been bugging me for a while. One of my interviews didn't not fill up all 20 mins. The interviewer is from anti trust and I'm applying for Corporate. He asked me 3 questions and 7 mins in, he ran out of questions. I proceeded to ask him some questions about the firm but all he could say was that he didn't know what's going on in the Corporate department. After an awkward silence around 15 mins in, he basically said that he's super busy that day, called it the day and left. Is this bad?

Can anyone tell me what the CSM callback is like during COVID times? I ask because they usually do a super day but obvi everything will be zoom-worthy so just wondering how this all works. Will it be an all day zoom? (hard to imagine).

Had a CB. I’ve done many and this was the first that I knew in my first interview the fit wasn’t there and the culture wasn’t for me. Maybe it was the endless behavioral questions but their rep for decent culture didn’t come through for me

Still silence on STB. Really really liked them but at this point even if they extended an offer I’d turn it down. DPW got back to me when they said they would and gave me an offer. Prolly a little irrelevant but would rather go where I wasn’t waitlisted
