is it essentially useless to go by hospitality suites with your materials if you're not stone or kent? can this work as a substitute to mass mailing those firms?

Caveat: not an expert -- just relaying what 2Ls/3Ls told me.

Take some time and do some mailing.

Class of 2017 here. MAIL. Don't assume the callbacks are coming. I did 24 screeners at EIP. I got zero callbacks. Zero. Do not wait to apply elsewhere; when you come back home Tuesday night you should be looking for other ways to reach out. Even if you have a callback or two, start reaching out.
Mind telling us what wound up happening to you? Did you manage to get a firm gig after EIP? Did other people in your situation manage to? Were there people who truly struck out from firms completely?

Right now the world after EIP seems like a mysterious black box.
Would also like to know.

I'm doing this. I think evening interviews are a Skadden thing. Doubt it puts you at a disadvantage

Hell no you're not expected to do two a days. You will be expected to try and set them up for consecutive days if you want your host firm to book more than a 2 night block at the hotel they put you up in. But nobody expects you to have more than one in a day
That's what I thought, but one DC firm told me that they will only cover one hotel night per every TWO firms, which suggested 2/day. I'm probably only taking one DC callback, but needless to say if I had more I wouldn't be asking that firm to host

I take it that everyone heard from Skadden on Friday night / over the weekend and the rest of us have been dinged then?

Does anyone know if transfers are at a distinct disadvantage in this process? I know everyone says that transfers tend to do well, but every time I give my transcripts to someone at a hospitality suite, it feels like I am sort of wasting my time.

I also know I can't speak to being Stone or Kent because our grades come from an entirely different school. I have a great GPA, I just haven't actually taken Columbia classes yet.
