There's no need to reach out to the interviewerAnonymous User wrote:if I get a "congrats on the callback, stay tuned for more info, you can call me if you have Qs" call from my interviewer and a "here's scheduling information, call us back to pick a date" call from the recruiting dept, do I need to call back both the interviewer and the recruiter or can I just call back the recruiter?
IDK what the etiquette in this situations is and I don't want a strike against me for not thanking my interviewer for the invitation if that's what is expected of me.

Quick question: If we receive a CB that we don't intend on taking, I'm assuming it's good form to call and turn it down or do they not really care?

Turn it down. That way, they know they can offer a callback slot to someone else. It'd be helpful for others!Anonymous User wrote:Quick question: If we receive a CB that we don't intend on taking, I'm assuming it's good form to call and turn it down or do they not really care?

If you're asking whether you should turn it down or just never respond, yes, turn it down.Anonymous User wrote:Quick question: If we receive a CB that we don't intend on taking, I'm assuming it's good form to call and turn it down or do they not really care?
But I think you're asking whether you need to call. An email is fine at this stage I think, though others may disagree.

Do firms try and lock up the top candidates first before they go deeper into the class or is it just a free for all?

Anyone have an idea when LA firms will start reaching out re: callbacks? A bunch did interviews on Friday, but I haven't heard back from any yet.

Free for all, but firms might go back and interview more people if they aren't hitting their desired yield.Anonymous User wrote:Do firms try and lock up the top candidates first before they go deeper into the class or is it just a free for all?

Depends on the firm IME. The dinner firms (Gibson, Munger) will wait several days. The satellites of ny firms (skadden, simpson, ect) often extent cbs within 36 hrsAnonymous User wrote:I haven't heard back.Anonymous User wrote:Anyone have an idea when LA firms will start reaching out re: callbacks? CSM is doing interviews on Monday too. Not surprising they would wait.

How many callbacks should one expect so far? At what point should we start mass-mailing?

I have had one so far from my Thursday interview. A lot of people posting about it kind of got me freaked out.
