Follow up from the above. Also got an interview request from a F100.Anonymous User wrote:In-house interview request at F500 after applying less than 48 hours. Pretty stoked.
CB interview complete at V30 (without grades).
No word from Jones Day NYC even though I applied weeks ago. No word from Cooley after phone interview. Still applying throughout these 50 states until I have a decent offer in hand.
GL to those retuning back this week! Don't know how I'm going to excuse myself from classes if I have to travel for the positions I really want.
Stats: URM, Lower T14, significant WE and SEO alum.

lower T14. no grades yet. Applied to the San Diego office (not from San Diego, but have ties to the area). Did have a typo in my cover letter (Colley (but it was buried in the body of the letter)DCNTUA wrote:Office?runinthefront wrote:school? grades?Anonymous User wrote:different anon than above, but dinged from Cooley just now

URM (AA) -> Lower T-14 -> Top 10% -> full-time work experience but, other than that, no 'soft's or wow factors to speak of besides a CALI.
I feel like I would've been competitive for 1L SAs if I applied in December, but I just sent out 25 apps in the last 2 days. Already received word that like 2-3 of the firms are filled for the summer.
Just how fucked am I for a 1L SA in NYC/DC? Have most of the Vault 100 finished hiring?

Fellow 1L, but I think you're fine. You're like the perfect 1L SA candidate. The only thing is missed deadlines for lots of the diversity programs, but I'd think you stand as good a chance as anyone at a 1L SA.Anonymous User wrote:URM (AA) -> Lower T-14 -> Top 10% -> full-time work experience but, other than that, no 'soft's or wow factors to speak of besides a CALI.

OP here. See, I felt that too (once I got my grades back) until I looked at the calendar. Since then, I've been racing to shoot apps out. Is there a running list of firms that are full for the summer?scottidsntknow wrote:Fellow 1L, but I think you're fine. You're like the perfect 1L SA candidate. Duder- it's the employment forum on TLS. People are obsessed with the anonymous post button. There is no way that a running list of firms would be compiled even if that info were available. And it's not, because firms lie about stuff all the time.Anonymous User wrote:OP here. See, I felt that too (once I got my grades back) until I looked at the calendar. Look guys, every second you spend posting ITT and wondering "should I apply?" is a second you could be sent applying. You shouldn't be thinking. Just mass blast those apps. Stop reading tea leaves, start mass mailing.
(Of course there is nothing really at stake here cuz LOL1Lsummer but it's good practice for the real deal that starts this summer)

I post a lot on TLS + my school's TLS page so I would prefer my classmates not knowing my grades (many know my screenname)

I'm not sure what you're addressing here. How would anything I said= your classmates could know your grades?Anonymous User wrote:OP in response to BigZuck:

Maybe you thought I was saying something about anonymous posting and that you shouldn't do it? All I meant was people post stuff like "Ding from V73" and they're also posting anonymously when they could just say "Ding from McDermott Chicago" cuz who cares, they are anon anyway and it's not like that info could hurt them. The obsession with anonymity means you'll never get a ton of really specific, detailed info in a thread like this.
(and I don't mean that anonymous posting is a bad feature or that people shouldn't use it, of course I think it's a great feature)

Re: 1L Summer Job Search C/O 2017
Does anyone know what chances are of getting a 1L SA out of a Spring OCI process? I'm at H and have 4 interviews with firms. Do I have a substantial chance of getting one or should I not count on it?

Re: 1L Summer Job Search C/O 2017
Don't count on it, especially if K-JD. Very few 1Ls get them, even at H. Someone with a strong IP background has a really good chance in general, but outside of that there's few reasons for a firm to take a 1L unless they have a really unique background and the firm is certain the applicant will be very desirable for 2L summer. For 95% of 1Ls, this just isn't the case. Good luck though, but prepare to apply to non-firm jobs as well.Anonymous User wrote:Does anyone know what chances are of getting a 1L SA out of a Spring OCI process? Are they grades that you want them to see or grades that you'd rather they not see? That should probably be your guide.runthetrap1990 wrote:bump. anyone?runthetrap1990 wrote:So I have my grades and have gone through a few CB interviews.
