How many people should be in this class of Honors Attorneys total? There are currently 50+ people in the FB group, so we can probably gauge how close we are to being done.

Hey y'all, don't give up hope yet. We may not be first round, but I know that a friend of mine got hired for OCIJ Manhattan in January, so all is not lost. My guess is that given the holidays though, we won't be hearing back until then - so my plan is try to let it go and not stress myself out anymore.

As to the DOJ Facebook Page - I think it would be really difficult to gauge based on that. There are supposedly 65 going to OCIJ alone; not sure how many for all the other components. Unless there is an OCIJ specific page I missed somewhere.

So good luck, and let's try to enjoy break!

I feel like its a bit too soon to throw in the towel. From looking at the spreadsheet, only 9 people out of the 23 OCIJ people on there have gotten offers. These people without offers seem quite qualified so I assume (and hope) there will be more offers coming within a week or so. Plus, from looking at the threads from the previous years, offers stretched all the way into February. I could be completely wrong but that's my hypothesis! :D

The webpage for the participating components lists how many each component was planning to hire (I think a few components decided to hire a few more?): http://www.justice.gov/legal-careers/ho ... components (70 going to OCIJ)

Ugh, don't know what's going on with ATR. This radio silence for weeks on end is maddening.

It might not be them. People may be sitting on offers while they wait to hear back from other components. We know that first round offers have gone out, so we'll see how many people accept/decline and if/when there will be a second round of offers.

Yeah, but I believe everyone except maybe OCIJ has given out all their first-round offers, and just about all the other components have also reached their hiring goals. First round offers for ATR went out November 17, so 28 days later (the max amount of time to respond, absent special circumstances) would have been this past Monday, assuming people sat on their offers the full allotted period.

I'm guessing a lot of the sections have finished hiring and there are just a couple sections that have some outstanding offers (perhaps to first alternates?). I'm thinking about this way too much, but nothing much else to do in the meantime. I'm sure Deana will let us know as soon as hiring is completed.

I received a wire transfer but it's different than what I requested. I'm assuming this is the reimbursement though since it's from DOJ.

Deana just posted that she is out of the office after today until after the new year. No updates in the interim. Going to be a long few weeks...

12/12. My interview was in the 2nd week of interviews and I sent my request sometime the 3rd week.

Dude, yes, that's the point of accruing leave during the year, so you can take off 6-7 days during the holidays when most people aren't working anyway.

Yeah, I am clerking now, and our district will only be open 5 days for the two weeks of Christmas and New Year's. Our office will not be fully staffed any day from now until after the New Year.

Hey guys, question. I was just offered a job with the State, and they gave me a week and a half to reply yes/no. I am still in the running as a finalist for the SLIP program (I know this is an HP board, but the SLIP board doesn't seem very active and I'm sure some of you guys were SLIP in the past). Would it be polite / recommended if I sent an email to the department and told them about the deadline? Or do you think that would be a waste, seeing as how they probably have a ton of other finalists who aren't giving them a deadline to hear back by?

Thanks for the input, I'd really appreciate it

If SLIP is your first choice, I would send them a polite update with that information and reiterating your desire to be a SLIP.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
