Good news of the day: I got an email from PLIP adding another interview due to others cancelling!

Bad news of the day: While getting a haircut, the stylist accidentally shaved off a large portion of my hair down to the scalp. I'll be in Chicago looking like a cancer patient now!

No worries. The sympathy factor may come in handy for a CB. Ccome to think of it, it may rub off on us as well. We'll all be looking for you, showing tearful support.

Nope. It was a firm in Indianapolis. I'm not sure how quickly they turn around with updating people with the newly scheduled interviews.

I just checked and now all of my interview slots show interviewer names when only about half of them did a few days ago. I'm guessing that if you don't have interviewers listed, that's the fault of the firms.

For those that transferred to another institution, did you have to let PLIP know so they can change your info?

All of mine have interviewer(s) listed as of now. But double check even if you wrote down your interviewers already, I noticed a few of my interviewers changed over time.

Spend time on interviewer bios, but not a ton. I spent too much time preparing for individuals only to see different faces in the actual suite. Focus way more on firms and practice groups.

Is anyone going to SF this weekend that doesn't have one interviewer name yet?. I have 8 and not one interviewer name is up. Kinda wanted to have some sort of idea who I was seeing.

I always wondered what people meant when they said this. I mean, "ya, so you do X, Y and Z, you had an article that X just achieved P result in case R" but, its all just shit you find on their website anyway, no?

In mine, I was like, i noticed that you have a chemistry background but have worked on all this EE stuff, does this mean that at X firm what work you take on isnt determined by your background? So i saw you also did antitrust in addition to IP, how did you get into that. So i saw you were a patent agent, does that help on the lit side? ect ect

I think it helps if the interviewer is an alumni from your UG or Law School, can be useful icebreaker

I bid and did not get PS's for a few firms at PLIP, and then I bid them again at my schools OCI. What is the best way to approach this situation? I'd like to network my way into an interview somehow. I don't know if I can make it happen @ PLIP or make it so that they definitely choose me for OCI (even though I don't know if they already dinged me for OCI)

Just want to max out my opportunities. Some have hospitality suites and some do not.

Anyone have any advice/thoughts/guidance. Thx!

Do firms generally care whether you placed a bid for an interview with them when talking to them at these hospitality suites?

Perhaps it's just my tendency to over analyze every situation, but wouldn't this come off sounding a bit insincere: I tell a firm that I'd like to know more about them because I'm very interested but if asked, admit that I did not use one of my bids on them?

Just say "I didn't get your firm during bidding." Not a lie.

Make sure that you go to the Cattle Call on both mornings. I went the first day and got an interview (alternate at 7). I missed the second morning but my name was called again (alternative around 10).

Cattle Call: Open slots due to noshows will be filled by calling names down the list.
