Had a CB with a top 20 DC firm yesterday (I don't want to post the firm bc I am too cautious). Got it through networking. I had only sent in my resume prior to the CB, and I didn't have a screener. They still haven't asked me for a transcript. What should I make of this? I thought the CB went super well, but who really knows.

what do you mean? sounds like a normal CB. if your grades are below where they recruit it probably won’t matter much but you never know. if they’re in their range or above you’re in a good spot

Does anyone know the timelines for Latham NY or Orrick NY? I applied 1.5 weeks ago and two weeks ago, respectively. I finished the Latham assessment a few days ago.

Also, Debevoise said they didn't have a pre-OCI interview slot, the number of which is apparently limited, for me. They did tell me to bid on them for OCI. But would you say my chances might be lower since I they didn't give me a pre-OCI interview slot?

For reference, I'm top third at a low T14 and have done a lot of networking.
I’ve been waiting on Latham NY for a week or so longer than you. I’ve said this before ITT but I feel like they’re not going crazy rn because they have a quick deadline for accepting their offers. They’d miss a lot of candidates if they made them decide now.

Unfortunate for Deb but your chances are probably only very slightly lower. I have similar stats and have an offer, though maybe slightly higher school rank.

Respectfully I know of 7+ people at my school w/offers (T6) that received CBs and offers in the same week last week. Latham has actually been one of the more active firms during Pre-OCI this summer…

Anyone else who had a CB with Skadden last week still not heard? I know they sent out offers/dings to candidates.

I mean that I had a CB without first sending in my transcript. I didn't think that was normal? From what I've heard, usually a firm requests a transcript + resume before a CB. Also my grades are just at their threshold.

I just had my Weil CB and after I had four consecutive interviews, the recruiting manager is supposed to give the final interview. Instead, he came in and started to recite the lines he memorized about the logistics, "please stay in this zoom room and the next interviewer will join shortly, blah blah blah." After I explained that I have finished interviewing with 4 interviewers. He shortly acknowledged that I have completed all scheduled interviews and then resumed reciting the lines he memorized, "please stay in this room and the next interviewer will join shortly." And then he left. Now I'm stuck in this zoom room, too afraid to leave, fearing there might be additional rounds of interviews. What should I do?

Can anyone who's had a Skadden NY screener let me know what your email from recruiting was like? Trying to discern whether I have a screener or CB.

As in, I had a CB with a firm but they didn't ask me to send in my transcript like firms usually do before a CB. Instead, I was only asked to send in my resume. It seems abnormal. Especially for a T20 firm.

What's the turnaround between screener and CB at Latham LA? Radio silence, here, and not sure when to start giving up hope.

Is it ever appropriate to follow up after a CB at this stage? Going on three weeks after a CB, assuming it’s probably a ding but it’s a little annoying to keep waiting to hear about it. i have a resume update coming, is that when i should wait to follow up for?

My career services office says yes, especially if you have another offer to dangle or if you have something like a journal to add to your resume.
