Oh shady Nassau.. They must really want you to give such a short deadline, lol.

I have no advice, other than don't bank on the residency requirement thing. I'm 99.5% sure it's not enforced.

I called DANY, and they scheduled me for a third round interview for next Friday (four days after I'm supposed to tell Nassau my response) and they told me to ask Nassau for a week extension. Has anyone done this? I'm scared to make Nassau angry but I obviously want to interview again with DANY. Also, what should I say? That I just need more time to speak with family/get residency stuff in motion (I currently live in NYC and there is a Nassau county residency requirement) or say I have an interview with DANY?

PLEASE tell me anything you know !! I need help!!
Oooof, that is rough. Bronx and Queens both gave me a week or so to get back to them, which I believe is pretty standard.

I'm not sure what you said in your interviews, but assuming it wasn't Nassau or bust, I think you should just be honest and say that you need more time. DA's offices can generally smell bullshit from a mile away, and the residency concern isn't terribly compelling since they knew you lived in NYC now.

I heard the same day, but I'm fairly certain I was an outlier given some unusual circumstances.

A month or month and a half for me. It was earlier in the cycle though (assuming you are talking about Fall class).

Has anyone heard anything about/received an offer from Manhattan that didn't involve another offer deadline? I had third round in middle of January and haven't heard anything yet.

No. Everyone I know who got an offer this cycle (myself included) had received another offer elsewhere.

I do know someone in last year's class who was one of the first with no competing offers to be hired, and I think that was around February.

Any insights on the Cook County last round? The word is they don't do hypos. Does anyone care to confirm or deny that?

Also, has anyone heard back from Queens yet?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the info, guess I'll keep holding out hope. I'm out of town and have been putting off scheduling early rounds with the other offices to try and avoid travel costs. Hope it doesn't come back to bite me....

dilemma - had 3rd rd w/ bkln in november, haven't heard back from them despite checking in a few times. i feel it's safe to assume i am within their 2nd tier candidates and getting an offer will depend on how many reject/accept from them first. i could hit brooklyn with a competing offer (a job i really dont care much for) in order to get a firm answer from them. am i best to wait though under the belief that no news is still good news? if i try to force an answer thru my competing offer, i may just get the quick no, since they do not know where they are at yet in terms of people accepting/rejecting...

Same anon you quoted. I know at least one person who got offers from the other DA's offices (several of them), and then she told DANY who then scheduled her 4th round almost immediately (which obviously turned into an offer). So I'm not sure you want to put those others off if they can turn into an offer that can get DANY to move...

I wish I could answer you since mine is on Thursday. Since yours is on the first day, you can probably get away with saying "I would have been fine with flying to Miami after the weather we've been having" without the State Attorney rolling her eyes.

How does Miami notify you of an offer? Call/email/snail mail?

Phone call and you get a package in the mail about 2-3 weeks later.

Got a letter from Nassau today that I was in the final group under consideration and that I would hear once the third round interviews are done. Has anyone gotten this letter/an offer/a rejection?

did you get this offer/package regardless of mailing in that application that they ask for? I haven't completed mine yet but just had a final round a week ago.

Nope. Offer w/o it, but you won't get your offer package without it. It's mostly a formality done for the background check.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
