nah. have an answer prepared in case it comes up, but i doubt you'll need (or want) to affirmatively explain itAnonymous User wrote:For interviews, should we expect to have to explain relatively significant jumps in gpa, similar to what someone might do after retaking the lsat? it could come in handy, though - i raised my CLR grade a significant amount from one semester to the next, so if CLR/"did you change your study habits from one semester to the next" came up i was able to say that i really focused on CLR because i recognized how important it would be for litigation blah blah meow chow. seemed to go over well in the interviews where it came up.

17 interviews. Got the first 9 bids (14 out of top 20). Lowest bid 50, but it's totally a hail mary firm so LOL to that.

So based on these numbers here, I kind of screwed up if I only got 15? I got the majority of the Chicago/NY firms I wanted, though.
adding CCBA to that I'm at 23, so I guess that's not bad.
eta: 8 of top 10, lowest 39.

I think it's going to heavily depend on market, no? So you didn't necessarily do anything wrong.

if you bid heavily chicago you shouldn't expect tons of interviews

So how much are these likely to change as firms shuffle their schedules?

One of my firms already has the name of the interviewer so I assume that means that they will add it as it becomes available to them...lgleye wrote:Got 19, including

Damn, those British firms went fast. But really surprised I got the 2 Paul's and OMM in the upper teens.
When can we expect to know the name of the screener?

There are also cancellations and stuff, so your number might increase.

How do we pick up interviews from cancellations? Will the slots be automatically distributed or is there a sign-up process?Pokemon wrote:There are also cancellations and stuff, so your number might increase.

If I'm reading the OCI Guide on CareerSpace correctly, I think the lottery rules apply. If you're #1 on a wait-list and someone cancels, you get that interview automatically. Then, two days before the start of OCI, there's open sign-ups where if anyone cancels you can sign up for the free spot yourself.Samara wrote:How do we pick up interviews from cancellations? Yes something like this seems correct. I got interview with MB last year out of waitlist (I think MB, maybe another firm). Then, during OCI you can also do the sign up thing. You would be surprised by the amount of spots that open up.zozin wrote:If I'm reading the OCI Guide on CareerSpace correctly, I think the lottery rules apply. If the system makes a change to our interview schedule (reschedule/add/delete), do we get a notification?

No that I remember. However you get reminder like a day before each interview.rinkrat19 wrote:If the system makes a change to our interview schedule (reschedule/add/delete), do we get a notification?

I'm not sure, I don't think its very common for a reschedule/add/delete to occur.I know it didn't happen once to me. What you will want to check the morning of the interviews though is the interviewers listed. Those change without notification.rinkrat19 wrote:If the system makes a change to our interview schedule (reschedule/add/delete), do we get a notification?

Bummer. For SFIPLA, I got an email that an interview had been added. So clearly Symplicity has the functionality to do it.splitmuch wrote:I'm not sure, I don't think its very common for a reschedule/add/delete to occur.I know it didn't happen once to me. I'd never leave it until the last minute to check, but still, it'd suck to spend several days researching and then log back in to find your slate of firms had entirely changed.

Dude, your entire slate will not change. Nor will you spend entire weeks researching things without checking simplicity in the meantime.rinkrat19 wrote:Bummer. Other tip from a 3L, continue checking simplicity because firms looking for SAs do resume requests during this period. Because they are not visiting, it does not necessarily mean they are not interested in NU students. Some of the firms/offices are actually pretty good.
