NY. They emailed me last night regarding the resume i dropped with them.Anonymous User wrote:NY or DC (or somewhere else)? Did this just come?Anonymous User wrote:Got a CB through a hosp suite resume drop with Akin Gump (the email called it a screener, but they said it would be structured as a callback, and they only say "screener" since they haven't actually met me yet). So I guess thats another one to the list. Pleasant surprise.

Well...that means I will be hovering around my mailbox (as Wachtell seems pretty old school and may not use email for this sort of thing).Anonymous User wrote:any more info on this? interviewer? when they received the CB?Anonymous User wrote:i have a friend who got a cb.Anonymous User wrote:Is it still the case that no one has heard from Wachtell? So weird that some people get dinner invites before CB's, and some get CB's but haven't gotten dinner invite (though I'd imagine its coming).Anonymous User wrote:Which office? I interviewed and got a CB, but no dinner invite (at least, not yet).

Snail mail ding from SNR Denton. Assumed it was coming when the interviewer cut me off early to get on a conference call.

Dings from Riker Danzig (email), Patterson Belknap (mail), Simpson Thacher NY (mail).
This process just seems so incredibly random. V5 with an ok interview...CB. Less grade-conscious firm in a quasi-secondary market where I have a house and had a great interview...ding.

Cleary ding via email. No surprise there. Not a single one of the 10 or so "elite" firms I interviewed with called me back. Really thought I had decent odds at getting a CB from 1 or 2 since I'm not at all a bad interviewer.

Just came back from my first CB in DC. They sent me on Acela (business class) and put me up in a really nice hotel. The actual interview was...mediocre. I don't really feel like I connected with anyone, though everyone was really nice.
At least I got a free trip to DC...

Oh, maybe they just do different things for different offices. My CB is for NY. I would guess this means a CB for you for whatever office you interviewed for.Anonymous User wrote:The latham office was a non-NY one, but the dinner is in NY...
