I am still confused by the anxiety here. The outcome is inevitable except on the margins, and unless people are about to get kneecapped for outstanding loan shark debt, why not just let the system play out, as it obviously will, and just focus on things actually within one's control?

Who here is anxious? The point is DPW looks sloppy and amateurish right now (and the rest of the V10 for that matter), not that people are breathing into paper bags over this.

Does it surprise me? Not really. Many law firms are run by people who would be laughed out of the C-Suite of an F100 company.

Honestly I think we are all just bored despite the mountains of work. The trolling seems to be at least partially in jest.

DPW has a town hall on Thursday, I think to discuss mostly RTO stuff. If RTO plan is 7/10 business days, as they announced last summer, maybe they'll come over the top Tuesday/Wednesday to blunt any blow back.

I’m saying, from actually dealing with lateral recruiting as opposed to just being a loudmouth on an Internet forum, that our prospective pool is absolutely plugged into which firms are growing and doling out compensation and it’s a plus factor as they see it as a sign of the firm on a growth trajectory beyond just amlaw figures which can be juiced.

It might help if it made a lick of sense. If your imposition is that lateral candidates perceive NRF as "growing" and DPW and Kirkland as "not-growing" because the former has already matched and the latter have not... do I need to go further? Do you really want to stick to the "juiced AmLaw numbers" line?

Honestly, at this point - I'm feeling pretty Republican about these raises. I'd probably get more enjoyment watching the collective meltdown of everyone on this thread about not getting raises than any enjoyment I can derive out of $5k post-taxes from the raise.

I'm feeling the same way, and there is really something to be said about firms moving quickly enough to keeps associates excited/motivated. If DPW/Cravath doesn't materially raise the bar here by upping the salary hikes or announcing special bonuses, my reaction is essentially going to be: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Let's also not act like the people posting on here are the only ones that care about this. Several of my peers that aren't familiar with TLS or haven't been on it since law school have discussions about why everyone has been silent. Virtually everyone is plugged into Above the law.

I'm not quite as cynical about this as some people in this thread... but even so, I think if they all just re-match and true us up most people will forgive and forget this interim period.

On the other hand, if CSM were to match and then get beat by DPW, I think more people would remember that.
