Sorry. That came off snooty. But the house i was staying at has neighbors who were raging into the night so sleep hasn't been plentiful. Anyway, the CB's were nice, class not so nice.

Still silence. I didn't even receive an application confirmation.

I've got a while before I get any grades, but I'll be sending them an email as soon as I do.

Ok well we can keep each other updated. I don't think I have much of a shot at major market firms for a 1L SA from wustl though, so I probably won't be the best comparison haha.

Yep! Haven't heard from Cooley, or any firm for that matter. (Well, I heard from MTO, but just a "give us your grades when you get them.") HYS here.

Got an aiii clerkship yesterday.
Networked directly with a clerk, put my materials on top of pile.
It's a major market district.
T6, ties to market

Bro, please help. Do you have a link to any info about which firms require application through, like, their website? I saw you mentioned Cleary, but I see they have a direct link to submit an application on their website. I can't get it to load. Does it even load? What did you do? Help please.

Symplicity, word of mouth, CSO, other sites like lawstudentjobs.net (which are hit and miss), and mass mailing (the good thing about F100s is that there are only 100 of them).

This is great. I've been looking on symplicity but didn't think about mass mailing F100s.

Do you mean Cleary's diversity app with the deadline that passed?

Depends on how big their in house legal dept is. For example XOM has a >250 atty legal dept, whereas SYSCO has <10 attys. Often just mailing the GC is fine, but sometimes there might be someone who seems more appropriate for what you're looking to do if you want to be in a particular department (like if you want to do Tax, at XOM you'd address their general tax counsel rather than their GC). BTW, Westlaw Next has a corporate counsel directory under Directories on the Next main page (Westlaw Next --> Directories --> Corporate Counsel).

Of course this can be approach can also be taken beyond F100 -- like to companies in certain sectors or cities.

So I have my grades and have gone through a few CB interviews. If they have not asked for the grades, should I send them in unsolicited? This is probably a stupid question but I don't know what the correct move is here.

Asked to interview for McAndrews Held and Malloy (Chicago) and McDermott (Chicago) diversity fellowships. Checking in for advice. Good luck to all.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
